Police Certificate

Good afternoon,

 

I'm still waiting for my i130 approved (4 months in) however im looking at police certificates and our lawyer is telling me i need to provide a certificate of countries i lived for more than 6 months.

I was born and raised in Italy and i've been travelling around the world since i was 11 years old with my family so i lived in Italy, Honduras, Colombia, Usa, Australia and New Zealand (currently living in Colombia since husband is deployed and visa is processing), do i need to get a police certificate from all of those countries ? Or countries i lived for more than 6 month after turning 18 years old?

Correct me if I'm wrong... I was under the assumption that it was only a police cert for countries you lived for more than 6 months in the last 5 years?

since the age of 16 :/ 

the 5 years is for addresses and work experience, but police certificates since you've turned 16

Oh boy! I'm so confused now..my lawyer says i need one since i lived in the us from 2009-2013 and currently awaiting overseas so im looking to obtain an FBI background check -.-

but im not either of those, so to my understanding yes i'd need one

my bad, but yes i'll tell my lawyer, she made a couple mistakes before but it's all we have with me overseas and my husband deployed!

You hire someone to help you with this process and pay them a good fee only to have to verify and double check there work utilizing a free resource
