Bonafide Evidence Should I Print out my E-Tickets?

 Share

Hello,

I have a quick question which I could not easily find answered

*I'm just about finished with my packet and I'm gathering evidence of our relationship now

So we don't have any of the primary evidences that is required.. (ex., property leased together, assets, bank accounts etc)

What I do have are tons of E-Tickets / E-Receipts of my flights, and flights taken together..

However, I do not have the physical boarding passes as they were lost when I moved

SO, do you guys think printing these E-receipts (electronic receipts sent to my email from the airlines) is decent evidence?

Thank you,

Randy

Regarding the text I placed in bold and red, those items are not required; USCIS as well as a CO at the Embassy will not expect or require a couple living in separate countries to have such items.

E-tickets and E-receipts in of themselves are not evidence of actual travel; however, if you have pictures, passport stamps, etc. to go with them, then they are useful in conjunction with the other examples I just gave.

Of course you have the primary evidence that is "required".  That would be your marriage certificate, evidence of US Citizenship for the petitioner and divorce decrees etc. as applicable.  You are writing about things that appear in the instructions AFTER the words "In addition to the required....".  E-tickets are not evidence of flights taken together.  Buying a ticket is not evidence of travel.  Boarding passes and/or passport stamps are evidence of travel.  Sure, you can send e-tickets but they are not actual evidence.  They just serve as clarifying documentation.  "OK" is one thing.  Decent evidence, not so much.

I used Etickets along with printouts of with hotel reservations and didn't get static.

Granted, I included the passport stamps and pictures to correspond.  Ideally use pictures in front of landmarks (pictures at the Panama Canal, etc.).  On flights booked together, it's clearer you traveled together.  I showed both of our flights arriving to the same place.

I never hung on to the boarding passes.

Frequent flier statements also show a flight was taken as they only award after you fly.

Frequent flier statements also show a flight was taken as they only award after you fly.

Of course you won't "get static" for anything you sent in.  The question is whether it is good evidence.  The OP is talking about flights taken together.  Frequent flyer statements only show one person's travel.  Unless you have a statement for each of you, you have no evidence of travel together.

That you "used it" and were successful does not indicate any cause and effect.  The most commonly engaged in human logical fallacy is that of coincidental correlation.  That event A precedes event B, does not indicate event A caused event B or contributed to it in any way.

I like the frequent flyer statement idea though but in mostly the context of evidence of meeting in person.  There are not always passport stamps that show you in the correct country.  (Think Europe etc.)
