Anyone at NVC from this year get CC even though they've sent i864 with blanks?

What I mean is that, there's parts in the i864 that don't apply to me. For example, interpreter signature. I didn't have anyone interpret or arrange my i864 for me

so I left it blank. I figured it'd be okay to leave blank since with USCIS, I had left blank and got approval. A lot of people say I should have put "none or N/A"

but others tell me they got accepted just fine and got CC. Anyone of this year get CC even with blanks?

Also, how long did you guys wait until CC?

I submitted my I-864 last year and left all the following boxes blank --

  • Middle name
  • All boxes in Part 3 (which asks about other family members you're sponsoring; I was sponsoring only my spouse).
  • All boxes in Sponsor's Physical Address (physical was the same as permanent address for me).
  • Income sources from other people.
  • The interpreter box.

I had no problems whatsoever and received a case complete within ~9 weeks. I think people have good intentions on this website regarding filling out every single box, because it's truly devastating to have to re-send something due to an "empty" box. However, I believe that one needs to just use good judgement. If a box clearly doesn't apply to you at all, I think it's okay to leave it blank. Good luck!

What time last year did you file it?

Yeah, I know some people from last year and even this year that got CC despite blanks but then reading here got me paranoid.

It means a lot that you answered :)

I put NA in the blanks that didn’t apply to me like the interpreter part. Someone did get a checklist just recently for leaving those sections blank. Better off just putting NA just to be safe.

Unless you made major mistake or forgot to send all pages of I-864( Including blank pages), you will be fine. Recent days lots of people are getting CC within 5-6 weeks

Yeah, one person I know left blanks and got CC. I guess unless there's a huge mistake, otherwise they should be smart enough to know blanks mean it doesn't apply. Ugh, here's to hoping.

I guess it also depends on how the officer's day is going, sadly enough. Hope I don't catch them on a bad day
