Ohh ok I see... you did have a social. That makes sense. I’m adjusting from a B2 visa, I do have all my NOAs, but I’m pretty sure having a social is a requirement.

NOPE. ITS BY STATE. IM SWITCHING FROM B2 TOO. DONT HAVE A SOCIAL.

So you have a drivers license,? like a permanent one? Without a social? I know you can get one for the same time as the I-94 but won’t be valid after that date. It’s that what you mean?

I am planning to do an expedite request as well. I heard those takes time too.

So idk its just a mess. If anything after 90 days im thinking to contact the congressman office as well.

Have you received your EAD yet? Looks like you case is moving fast. i see you have an interview scheduled

Yeah, submit that expedite request as soon as possible. But right now it's pretty useless to keep checking your case and calling them because they're just going to tell you the same thing they tell everyone: it's still in process.

My interview is on Apr 3, but no update on my EAD and AP since NOA1. I might've just gotten lucky with the interview thing, because I talked to 2 immigration officers on the phone when I asked if it's true that I was getting a schedule, and both of them said it was impossible since I only submitted my application in January. It was only the tech support guy who told me the correct info out of the 8 people I talked to.

That’s weird, I got my licence with the NOA from the ead. I didn’t have to wait for the ead, just the i797 was enough. I’m in Indiana where they usually make stuff difficult but that was really straightforward.

I believe it varies from place to place and from agent to agent. I honestly don't want to spend my time waiting in line for something that they might refuse to give me for not understanding what a K1 or an AOS visas are.

I tried changing my name in the SS office but the guy told me there were issues with people changing their names, then applying for AOS, then going back to the SS office trying to change it back to their maiden names (it's not possible). I might be traumatized by this experience haha so I'll just wait for my EAD. In AZ I can drive using my foreign driver license till it expires, so I'm good. :)

Yes, I can drive on my UK licence for one year but our insurance will only cover me for 6 months on a foreign licence so I lose those 6 months and have to get my US licence by June :(

The office of the congressman wouldn't do anything out of the ordinary, they are simply gonna send in inquiry on your behalf just like everyone else..

Nevertheless, please exhaust all your options, as for me I've done expedite request, service request and also gone through my congressman's office.. 78 days as of today..

That really sucks to hear that!! So then when should we expect it around what day 90, 100, 200 perhaps lolll ?

Mine is 79th day as of today im getting so tired of this so frustrating ugh

It seems like a lot of January filers have been getting impatient with their EADs, and I noticed it's mostly those adjusting from B2. Is this visa generally quick to obtain?

As someone adjusting from a K1 visa, I am not expecting my EAD at around day 70 something (getting an interview sched was more of a miracle) and I see fellow K1 visa holders aren't getting impatient as well. I think it's because they know how looong this process can take. And the AOS process is supposed to be longer! At least now we're with our spouses, so the wait isn't as stressful as when we we applied for the K1.

Just hang in there, fellow January filers, and don't keep checking your case as it'll just stress you out. Many 2017 filers are still waiting. Enjoy all your free time with your partner, start a new hobby, try something new, learn new things! Once you get your EAD, you'll wish you didn't spend this waiting time stressing out so much. :)

I'm on day 99, coming from a K1 as well. Not impatient yet! :)

I guess we're more used to waiting :P

When I was around day 70 I didn't even bother checking the status of my applications.

I guess so! K1 filer as well here!

I don't even know what day I'm on. Haha
