Does the AOS have to be exact copy of the one I sent to the NVC? Or can I reprint it and sign and date it again? I don't have a copy of the one I sent and i don't remember the date I put on the AOS I sent to the NVC

I was in a rush and didn't make a 2nd copy, so when it came time to prepare for the interview, I printed out another one, I had saved what I filled out minus the tax amounts I had to fill in by hand, signed it and dated it a different date.

No problems at all.

I don't know that they looked at it and they didn't keep anything.

You'll be just fine.

So now that this is over.

From all the docs that we had in our file, is there anything that I should keep, or is ok to shred it all?

Hello!

My wife will have her interview in Lima, Peru. Although we are still waiting for the CC, I would like to know how did it take from you guys from CC to Interview Notification Letter? Or, better yet, since you could hear over the phone (assuming that happened before getting the notification) when was you interview going to happen ?

I believe it varies a lot depending on where the Consulate/Embassy is located. So is anyone here having their interview in Lima? All I could find was K1 visa scheduling estimates but I don't know if they are relevant to us since we went the IR1/CR1 route.

Congrats on the approved interview to everyone here! And thank you for your replies.

Hi guys, when my husband went to pick up his visa he was given a paper where it says to pay immigrant fee before departure  $220. Does anyone know what is that for? It’s not for greeen card right? As i think green card is more expensive than that. If it’s not for green card where and when exactly do you pay for the green card to be established ?

It is the fee for the Green Card itself.  The actual Green Card will NOT be issued until the fee is paid.  However, the immigrant can enter the US before payment.

THANK YOU very much!  I thought GC will be more expensive than that. That’s good it’s not. What about the the social security card? How do we pay for that? OR we will have to go to the immigration place here to apply for that?

If you checked the box for the Social Security card on the DS-260, then it should arrive in the mail within a couple weeks after your husband enters  the US.  If it doesn't arrive after a few weeks, you can simply go to the local SS office to get his card.  There is no fee for the SS card.

We went back to Mexico City, they shipped it overnight, its already at the DHL location, but we probably won't pick it up till tomorrow morning.

Its possible for other locations it can take a little longer, I think we would've had the same wait time in Juarez.

We're not planning to cross right away so there was no need for us to wait there.

Any issues getting visa in hand today ??  I've been trying to keep up with the whole " INTERVIEW TO ACTUAL VISA IN HAND"  coming out of Cuidad Juarez but many hours of searching yield very little answers. I am accompanying my wife to CDJ  along with our 3 year old and unlike your situation we have to return asap for my work obligations. I wouldn't be so concerned if I hadn't read all the "meltdowns" that have occurred over the last few months... A TON of people on this forum never fill out their timelines and leads to disappointment In looking for answers...
