Hi, I will possibly be sending our application in January.  I'm debating on waiting for the W-2's to come in first so there will be two years of joint filing to show.

I concur with what the other poster said. Get your application in the system as soon as you get in the 3 month window. They'll contact you for more evidence if they need it. You can also call and ask if you can just send in more evidence before they ask for it.  You'll need the tax transcripts from the IRS anyway.

Did everyone send in the original copies of the relationship affidavits?

Didn't send any affidavits. My understanding of the 'weight' of evidence is that financial records and lease/insurance/401k and so on far outweigh anything else.

That's ballsy. The i-751 instructions specifically say you "should include" two sworn affidavits from people you know.

It's a risk for sure, but there are many many reports of folks being approved without sending affidavits as long as other evidence is strong.

We didn't send any affidavits. In the letter we got, it doesn't even mention affidavits in the list of suggested evidence we should include, but lists mainly financial related evidence that shows co-mingling of assets and obligations. Affidavits are mentioned in the online instructions though, however I would think that it's among the weakest evidence one could show because anybody can write one saying anything about anybody. We sent photographs, but I don't think they really carry much weight either.
