No need to send any pictures to the NVC - make sure your spouse has them at their interview.

You need to send your divorce decree along with you and your brother's financial info and the affidavit of support.

Here is the info from NVC's website regarding the divorce papers:

If you are applying for an IR1, CR1, or F2A visa as the spouse of a U.S. citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident and your petitioning spouse was previously married:  You must obtain evidence of the termination of EVERY prior marriage your petitioning spouse has had. This evidence must be an original or certified copy of one of the following documents:  FINAL legal divorce decree, death certificate, or annulment papers.

  • Send a photocopy of the petitioner’s marriage termination document(s) to NVC.
  • Bring the original petitioner’s termination document(s) plus a photocopy to your visa interview at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate.

Yes you need to resend divorce decrees

I would suggest sending pictures and other evidence if you do have new ones since the initial petition. At the interview they are likely to give you 221g and be put into administrative processing for the same evidence you take because they will not look at it. They'll send you away and ask you to send it in via mail. Save yourself the trouble and sideload- check the guides. Seen this happen to so many people.

Don't bother sending pictures to the NVC. They only check to see if you have the required documentation. The consular officer is the one making the decision, so make sure you bring pictures (old and new ones that were not sent to USCIS) and whatever other evidence of the relationship you might have.

Agree that NVC does not look at the evidence you send to them... The point if sending it to NVC is so it's sent to the embassy. They get the evidence before they even see you- that's the point. That way they are less likely to ask you to send in evidence.

In terms of number of pics it's quality over quantity. I sent in about 10 in total but I sent pics that showed time had passed (e.g. hair grown, gained, lost weight etc) and showed that we spent time with family and friends.

Thank you. So things like chatlogs are better shown at the interview?

Chatlogs are okay to be brought to the interview. I've always thought that chat logs are pretty irrelevant since they don't prove the identities of the people who are chatting. Pictures, flight confirmations are better than chat logs if you ask me. Bring the proof of relationship to the interview.

I agree with you about the chat logs.  But people always mention them. Not sure though.
