Marrying Beneficiary in their country and filing K1 visa

Just wondering if anyone here has married their beneficiary in their home country and then submitted a K1 visa application instead of CR1?  I see that the CR1 takes a little longer.

Thanks

K1 is a fiance visa

Cr1/ir1 is marriage visa

If you apply for a k1 and are married and you don't tell them, they will find out and it will be fraud!

If you will marry in their home country at any point before entering the US to marry then you use the CR1.  You must be unmarried when you enter the US to use a K1 visa

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

This would be fraud. You must be single and free to marry at the time of filing the I-129F all the way through entry into the US on the K-1 visa.

Not just marrying in your home country, but ANY country. Marriage is universal.

If you have married in any country then you can NOT file a K1.

CR1 did take longer time, however, recently K-1 taking long time too. I'm K-1 filers, and currently right now, I'm waiting 182 days for my NOA2. If married at beneficiary country is a must for you, file for CR1. If you are married and file for K-1, it is a fraud.

People get denied K-1 visas for having engagement parties that look too much like a wedding. Imagine if you're actually married and try for a K-1..

The CR-1 is far more superior to the K-1 in almost every aspect anyway. I would've married and went for the CR-1 if I were you.

K-1: 12-22-2015 - 09-07-2016

AP: 12-20-2016 - 04-07-2017

EAD: 01-18-2017 - 05-30-2017

AOS: 12-20-2016 - 07-26-2017

ROC: 04-22-2019 - 04-22-2020
Naturalization: 05-01-2020 - 03-16-2021

U.S. passport: 03-30-2021 - 05-08-2021

Thanks, guys, I was thinking that, but wasn't sure.  I am looking at going the CR1 route.  Not too much difference in the timeline now.

I like the idea that the green card comes quicker as well as the permission to work.

I think CR1 is better.. that way you can 'plan' your wedding, instead of playing the waiting game for the K1! and then once you enter you have a  GC and can enter and work right away and get a driver license. so many people enter and then things go sour or they run out of money to apply for the greencard and are stuck in limo.

good luck:)
