We got our NOA1 last October 25. Upon checking our case status at uscis website, it always says my case status does not recognize the receipt number, though we are encoded it correctly. Does anybody had this concern before? Thank you so much!

It can take up to 14 days for your receipt number to work on the USCIS website. It's not the greatest of inventions, it must be said....

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!

It does take a while sometimes. Mine was not available to track a couple days after I received the e-notifications and sometimes not until you receive your official receipt in the mail you can only track it. Don't worry, I'm sure yours will be available soon. Good luck :)

There are a lot of us whose numbers were never entered into the system. My PD is 4/25 & it still comes up as invalid. When I called they said there's nothing they can do about it, and that not all numbers get entered. As long as you receive the letter in the mail, then they have your case, and all you can do now is wait.

4-24-17 I-130 sent to Chicago Lock Box

4-25-17 NOA 1 & sent to TSC

Alright. 6 months already still not in the system? You should call them and share your experience. Thanks.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. Have you tried contacting USCIS regarding this matter? Maybe, they will be able to shed some light as to why you can't track your case. Good luck! :)

We are waiting 2 months now and still are getting invalid receipt number.

My fiancée Emilia and I met in October 2009 in Wrocław, Poland while I was doing “study abroad” after graduating High School in California. We started dating in the beginning of December 2009. In September of 2010, I went back to Poland to start a full time study program at the University of Arts in Poznań. I decided to study in Poland because I wanted to be close to Emilia. In October of 2012, Emilia decided to move to Poznań to live with me.

Just following up on this thread to see if OP ever got their issue resolved - were you finally able to use your Receipt Number on the My Case Status link on the USCIS website?

We're in the same boat - I-130 for IR/CR-1 was received by the Chicago Lockbox on 14 Dec 2017, email received from "Do_Not_Reply_Lockbox@dhs.gov", stating that they received the packet and also sent us a Receipt Number in this email.  The RN doesn't show up on the USCIS website as of yet, and we're waiting patiently for updates.

We initiated our application from Thailand, but will be moving to the United States next week - my wife isn't "moving" to the US per se, rather coming over for ~5 months on her B2 tourist visa.

Hope all is moving along for you, cheers!

My NOA1 was 24 August 2017. Receipt number still not recognised! My husband got his congresswoman to send in an enquiry (since I have read here that some people who called USCIS were not able to get to a Tier 2 employee) and I should hear something next week.
