Hello my question is when a k1 adjust to permanent resident does the green card expire at 2 year anniversary of the marriage or two years after the date the green card is issued?

Later on how does that affect the citizenship process? Is the k1 able to apply for citizenship 3 years after marriage, or 3 years after the conditional green card is issued, or 3 years after they receive the permanent green card?

There is a "Resident since xxxx date" on the green card and that's how long you the conditional residency starts so 2 years after that date you will have to file for ROC.  If you two are still together at 3 years after that date you can file for citizenship.

The conditional green card expires two years after it was issued, date of marriage has no bearing on it.

To be eligible for citizenship under the 3-year rule, the person must have been married to the same USC for at least three years and also have been a GC holder for at least three years. The earliest you can send the application paperwork to USCIS is 90 days beforehand. The "resident since" date on the GC is the one that counts.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!

For adjusting to citizen is the conditional period counted toward the 3 years or only the time after the conditions are removed? Thank you both for your response.

Yes,  it is counted toward the time you need to file for citizenship. But you do need to file for ROC first before you can file for citizenship.
