My wife felt the same way when she came here from the Philippines. She was freaking PISSED when I got my AK but now she likes the idea of having a pistol in the house just because. I have taught her how to load it, shoot it, and reload it. It is a right here in the USA that we love and alot of other countries quite frankly don't understand it.

Asheville is nice, I actually  had an interview on Friday for a job in Asheville. So I really hope I get it so I can move back to NC.

Good Luck!

No Way To Prevent This,’ Says Only Nation Where This Regularly Happens

LAS VEGAS—In the hours following a violent rampage in Las Vegas in which a lone attacker killed more than 50 individuals and seriously injured 400 others, citizens living in the only country where this kind of mass killing routinely occurs reportedly concluded Monday that there was no way to prevent the massacre from taking place. “This was a terrible tragedy, but sometimes these things just happen and there’s nothing anyone can do to stop them,” said Iowa resident Kyle Rimmels, echoing sentiments expressed by tens of millions of individuals who reside in a nation where over half of the world’s deadliest mass shootings have occurred in the past 50 years and whose citizens are 20 times more likely to die of gun violence than those of other developed nations. “It’s a shame, but what can we do? There really wasn’t anything that was going to keep these individuals from snapping and killing a lot of people if that’s what they really wanted.” At press time, residents of the only economically advanced nation in the world where roughly two mass shootings have occurred every month for the past eight years were referring to themselves and their situation as “helpless.”

In the world of Trump this could actually be considered serious. Lol.

Personally, even if the US applied many European gun laws the US would still have far more guns than Europe. I'm familiar with UK, German, & Swiss laws and I find I could work within each system if I had to.

It's not that there is not way, there is no will, and we'll continue to watch the escalation of these acts of terrorism.

I think the question to ask is, would say a German gun law system have stopped this. Its too early to tell for me.

i would say the question to ask is how we stop this in America, but since these mass shootings became common place of our news cycle, the prognosis are not very optimistic.

We can however speculate why similar attacks do not happen with the same frequency in other countries.

There is seriously wrong in US with all the mass killings / shootings.

Sad part... nobody has really foolproof ideas to stop it.

Done with K1, AOS and ROC

Its about total guns. I really don't think the laws are the reason. The US buys more guns...full stop.

Wow that chart is misleading. One thing that jumps out at me is microstamping bullets. I've heard of microstamping cases...not bullets.

Not sure what is misleading, opinions of experts against the views of the public on those opinions.  It seems straight forward.

Short list of complaints.

First it has no vertical / horizontal bar. I had to read at the bottom the actual percentages.

Then look at the percentage of people that "agree" its all within a band of 20% which makes me question how the questions were asked.

Finally lets apply logic to some of the "experts" Why is a semiauto ban less effective than universal background checks?

Here are the top five with effectiveness and public support scores. How many of these can we all agree on?

Preventing sales of all firearms to people who have been convicted of violent misdemeanors, including domestic assaults. 7.1 83%
Preventing sales of all firearms to people who have been convicted of stalking another person 6.5 85%
Requiring all gun owners to possess a license for their firearm. 6.4 78%
Requiring all sellers to run background checks on anyone who buys ammunition. 6.4 72%
