Congrats to you - we had a snag which was really annoying. The officer was quite brusque and rude and asked for the 2017 tax transcript or a lease. My husband feels we were discriminated against for being gay. We only brought the documents we uploaded in January (2014-2016 taxes) so hadn't then filed 2017 taxes. We didn't think we needed to bring further evidence that we are still married and living together since it wasn't listed. So we got a Notice of Continuance and had to scramble to bring back documents and upload them. We today gave them our tax transcript, 2017 returns and apartment rent bills with both our names, and now we have no idea how long it's going to take. Has anyone else had such an unpleasant experience?

I'm sorry, that sounds really messed up. I hope this doesn't make your case drag too much longer. I too found it really surprising that they asked anything about our relationship at all, I thought that part was over after we got the 10-year green card.

Good luck to you! The end is in sight!

Right? You would think that part is over after getting the 10yr GC...how difficult is it for them to do their job instead of keeping the applicant anxious with long wait times

Has anyone had any luck scheduling an InfoPass lately? I have been check for the last 3 weeks and found nothing. I even check every day at 6 am because that was the time you'd find available appointments on there. I only found one spot last week at 6:45 am that was scheduled for 7:30 am the same day (Go figure!) but I couldn't make it.

Anyone has been to an InfoPass lately?

@Davesings That is just so wrong.. 😞 I hope you will be able to sort things out quickly.

I got an update overnight - application approved, so I'm waiting for my letter. However (!) my estimated completion case moved to March 2019 ??? So the officer was right about 3-4 months wait from now. Wow.

Hey All, Thank you so much for all of your good wishes; after submitting the requested documents we got a notification that says "Case Was Submitted For Quality Review Based On An Approval Recommendation: We recommended that your form N-400..be approved. On November 15, 2018 your case was submitted for quality review. This is a standard process we use to ensure the quality of our decisions. Once our quality review is done you will be scheduled for an oath ceremony."

Has anyone else gotten this notification and does anyone know how long this process takes? I'm hoping this means it's almost over!

@Quarter how is your Oath scheduling looking? I see you had your interview a day before me. I'm just totally shocked that my completion estimate moved from November 2018 to March 2019 after case has been approved..

Well PHEW - this morning's update is they now say "We approved your application" and that the next step is the oath ceremony, but like you anyz, it now says March 2019!

@anyz @Matmat and @Davesings... I assure you that from the day of your interview... the oath will be within 45 days. Don’t sweat the notifications and quality reviews and all. It’s just a workflow process and all they are doing is trying to schedule you for oath.

regards,

psg052813

Yes ours did the same. Interview was on Nov 8th. The IO handed me a paper saying he cannot make a decision at the moment. When we left the building, there was a text from the USCIS website saying it was approved. This is SOP and the IO said they have backlogs for the Oath Ceremony. Our date that was projected was  months away.

That may be true for some NY locations, but Manhattan seems to have a true backlog for Oaths.

At least they do schedule us (even if months ahead) so we're not just left hanging to wonder when it will come.

Got the "oath has been scheduled" notification. Don't see the letter yet, but the estimated completion still March 2019.

Well anyz, congrats on the "scheduling" at least - hopefully psg is right and your oath will happen sooner than later. Had you applied by mail or online? Which website gave you this notice? - the main uscis check status site or the online app site where docs get uploaded. I am trying to reconcile why one tells us there is a quality review while the other tells us the application was approved.

Fwiw I live in Manhattan and got my interview Nov 8th and my oath is scheduled for the end of november but the website still says estimated completion time March 2019.  So I would not sweat it, your oath is probably soon-ish.
