My mom needed to do a sputum so we were delayed by 8 weeks, I'm glad the result was negative.

Goodluck! :)

Hi,

I filed I 130 concurrently with I 485 for my mom when she came to US last April on tourist visa.

June 17: filed I 130, I 485

July 17: finger print

Sep 17: reentry permit was sent to home

Nov 17: my mom left the US, going back home as my dad was sick

Feb 18: they asked for finger print again, but because my dad was sick my mom couldn't do it and i rescheduled for her

May 18: second finger print

July 18: new I 693, as the old 693 was more than 12 months

July 18: I 130 approved letter

Aug 18: they sent a letter saying " to make final decision,.....we need: petitioner's marriage & divorce certificate (me), my mom's marriage certificate, my mom's police clearance record from places she had been living in past 5 years

My question is:

1/ is that normal to ask for my marriage and divorce certificates?

2/ is that normal to ask for my mom's marriage certificate?

3/ is it normal to ask for my mom's police clearance record? is it because she left the US while her I 485 and I 130 are in processing? any other reason?

4/ They approved I 130, and they asked for more documents to work on I 485, I 485 filer is my mom, not me, why do they need my paper work?

5/ Does my mom need only police clearance record in Vietnam? or also in the State? as she lived in the States last year for 7 months, does she need police record here in US?

I really need someone can help me understand this more. Please help. As to what i know, my mom's i130 and 485 has taken a lot longer than normal and i am worried.

Thanksss

Anh

Hello Lane,

congratulations, quick question... does St Luke’s hospital allowed a family member escort your parents medical test?

Yes it’s normal for NVC to ask for petitioner (you) applicant (parents) marriage certificates.

For your mom US police clearance they do not need a copy, all they need is Alien Number or any sort reference number that your mom used under her Tourist Visa and they can check her police record in their system.

please refer to link below for I-130 & I-485 applications.

My mom did her medical yesterday 9/2 and was scheduled for sputum test on sept 11-12&13 and Pulmonary Eval. Is it true that your parent waited for 8 weeks for sputum result? Did your parent did Pulmonary evaluations as well? How long is the timeline from initial 3 day test till the result ? How to re schedule the interview since my mom was originally scheduled on Oct 4 I’m so worried now 😟😥

Yeah we waited at least 8 weeks to get the result and after that I just go online to schedule an interview. Yes, after the sputum test, my mom had a pulmonary eval.

do you have to re-schedule the interview online before the original interview date of your mom?

my mom interview schedule on Oct. 4th and due to sputum she won't make it.
