Yeah that sounds similar to me. I filed in July 2017, case has been ‘ready to schedule interview’ as of Sept 27th, nothing since then.

I hope we hear something soon because it’s heartbreaking waking up every day and seeing a half dozen January 18 filers with their interview dates already. I know this stuff has been known to happen in the past, but those were anomalies, it wasn’t like this. This is something completely different.

Same here but last update was Oct 2017. I'm from SF and can barely find updates from SF office about their interviews.

That may be what is coming my way. Do you think I should go ahead and call them?

Honestly it's pointless, I tried to call them when mine was coming and they told me nothing. What time do you get your mail?

Thanks, I had to call them to get that. Ask to speak with a Tier 2 officer when you call. We have not received the letter yet.

When you called to inquire about your case, did you get the information that your interview had been scheduled from the automatic voice that 'greets' us and then asked to talk to a Tier 2, or did you get it straight from the T2 officer?

Whenever I call USCIS, I usually type my case #, get the electronic message response that 'it is now being scheduled for an interview' and then I ask to talk to an officer. Just wanted to know if I can continue to pursue further to talk to a T2 or if I should just keep waiting :(

No, call the number and press one for English and then keep pressing 2 until you hear the voice say you are being connected. Once the Tier 1 comes on and after saying their badge number. Tell them you would like to speak with a Tier 2

I called and she refused to connect me to tier 2 officer. When I told her thank you and have a great day, she insisted she can help me resolve whatever I was calling about. She ended up telling me my case is within normal processes time and that I have a month and about 2 weeks to be scheduled though it can still be within 21 months. She encouraged me to call back in a month and 2 weeks if not scheduled.

For me I don’t wish to place any more calls soon. Just that we want to move. It’s going to be second time we are moving, since I applied For AOS

Just go ahead and move. Don't let interview stuff bothers you. If you already have EAD, just plan on renewing EAD since it is free as long as your AOS is pending. I regretted for not moving based on my original decision in April, could've transferred my case earlier to PA and it seems cases for July 2017 filers in Philly are moving forward now, I could've gotten interview scheduled if I moved in April (maybe). We listened to our attorney to stay put in Yuma,AZ until GC is approved, unfortunately, since my RFE response received in late Jan until now there's no update for my case at all. Worst of all is that everytime I call, they tell me the same thing that it is within normal processing time because PHX is so backed up that the average processing time for family-based AOS is 14.5 months - 22 months. So it could actually go on as long as 1 and a half year for most applicants. Pisses me off even further when Jan 2018 filers got their interview date in PHX. The fact is being in Yuma, unemployment rate > 10%, I've applied to like 6-7 job applications, both entry level or experienced level, never gotten any feedback. We thought about staying until Aug 2018 Fall prior to move (hoping interview date would come through and GC be on hand before Aug). Judging from the way they process cases for PHX which seem to be so slow, we decided to go ahead and move now by end of May. We're leaving to PHX spend 2 days visiting friends and saying goodbye. Then we'll depart from PHX to Philly, first month of stay in airbnb (vacation period) while job hunt + aptment hunting. Once we secure a new place for a year lease, we'll proceed to update the USCIS about address changes and let them transfer the case from NBC/PHX to Philly. Yes there are rumours saying that it may take as long as 4 months to finish with transfer, but at this point, it is no longer worth to get myself headache with the stress of calling the Tier2 inquiring the progress of the case. Just let it sail smoothly until we hear from them, it'll eventually happen. Bear in mind that if they want to take longer for our case, feel free to. Because once our marriage > 2 years by June 2019, I am gonna be interview for 10 years GC instead of conditional. Removal of conditions GC i-751 costs about $595 + $85 (filing + biometric). If I can save this step, it might be worth the delay. The only thing that I may have to spend again is the new medical records which probably cost less than $500 as the previous record submitted along with AOS only valid for a year from filing date. So it'll typically expires by the date I filed in July this year. They'd usually request the applicant during the interview and say they'd issue RFE for new medical record, once they receive the new one they'll go ahead with the decision whether to approve or deny the GC.

Besides, Philly being a large city probably have more job opportunities as well as other entertainment for me compared to staying in Yuma (nothing to do here...)

So if you are planning to move for job / school purposes, go ahead... unless you really need the GC a.s.a.p for some purpose such as school scholarship, job requirement and etc and cannot afford any delays that may be caused by the case transfer. One thing I've heard that is if your case status now is put into "Case is ready to be scheduled for interview" means your case is already with the local office, just waiting for available dates to be scheduled for interview before they mail you the notice. But if your case status did not change at all from the last action, for example like mine : "We've received your response of RFE on Jan xx date, your case is no longer on pause, we'll continue to work on your case" typically means my case is still with NBC. Although through the last few calls with tier 2 few weeks ago, I've gotten diff answers, one told me my case is with local office PHX, the other told me my case is with NBC pending. None could give me anything in detail in term of what exact status or progress is my case, whether is it pending for officer to pick it up to look at or pending for interview scheduling date. It is just so tiring having to call them, schedule call-back, anxiously wait for their call-back, then end up getting the same negative answers over and over again. Might as well move on and work on something else in life... haha. Now that I am gonna move by next week, I hope that damn letter wont come to Yuma, wait til I get a new address, update them, then they transfer the case from NBC to Philly. Sometimes case transfer might help your case faster if the new local office has least applicants in the queue compare to the previous state you are in.

Ok thanks for your advise.

Hey people, dont even know if here is the right place to post it but since i’m a july filer....

i just travelled outside the US and came back under the advance parole.

my husband and I went to brazil to see my family and vacation and came back 10 days later.

I was worried about entering the US with the advance parole since this whole immigration nowadays seems a mess but everything went smoothly.

The port of entry was JFK.

My husband went thru the automatic passport control and after finishing his stuffs we went together to the IO.

He just took my fingerprints, picture and told me because i was under the AOS i had to go to the sencondary screening thing.

Another office scorted me to the room while my husband went to get our luggages.

It was literally 2 minutes between getting to the room and leaving.

5 minutes later we were already outside waiting for the taxi to come home.

No questions asked besides “how long you guys were out?”

If you are worried like I was of travelling with the advance parole just relax.

Thanks, this is very helpful. My wife and I are leaving the country in a few days.

For the last few weeks, it showed status of please call USCIS due to no info.   Then Friday I got a text/email that my status updated and I went back and looked... " On May 25, 2018, we scheduled an interview for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, Receipt Number..... "

So looks like it has been back up and now has new status,  I take that a date has been set and they will be mailing a letter now?    we were already preparing our EAD renewal and wife was even planning a 2 week trip back to China (would have been 2nd one on her Parole) this week, but I suggested not to go and just wait on the letter to see what day,  but I feel it would be best to wait till interview is over before she go visit China.

Suggest filling out your timeline. Maybe someone from your local office can give you an indication of how long from notification to interview typically. Good luck.

April 22, 2020 - I-751 sent

April 23, 2020 - I-751 received at Lockbox
