The so-called president tried to strong-arm Comey, and he would have none of that. Trump fired him our of spite, because Comey refused to be bullied by the man-child.

 

The fact he asked for loyalty, goes against everything our institutions stand for, the rule of law. That alone is serious in itself.

Obviously Comey knew it wouldn't be wise to reveal said information to a guy who has been very loyal to Trump throughout their time together and he obviously had some inkling he would recuse himself.

But Comey is not part of the administration. Seems crazy to be releasing the statement he is going to read tomorrow, just don't see the point in it. :blink:

That's just part of it. The statement frames his narrative, and preempts some of the questions he would have been asked anyway. It pretty much tells the senate that there is a lot of meat on that bone, and it's theirs for the picking.

I think the Senate Intelligence committee actually released it, but that must have been Trump's fault as well.

If the allegations are true Comey himself obstructed justice by not immediately reporting what he knew. But we already know from Comey's May 8th testimony that the allegations are not true. And if they are true he perjured himself on May 8th. So if the allegations are true Comey is guilty of obstruction of justice and perjury and if they aren't true and he says they are tomorrow he will be committing perjury in his testimony tomorrow.
