'Enough is enough': Theresa May says there's been 'far too much tolerance' of 'evil' Islamist extremism in the UK

I saw a lot of tweets last night, all running on about how London survived 57 consecutive nights of bombing by the Luftwaffe, and how that didn't break the London 'spirit'.  And many other days and nights as well, although those weren't mentioned.

The difference this time  is, you aren't going about your business waiting for the moaning minnie sirens to tell you they were on the way over. A bit of a heads up that they were underway, so time to get down the tube, or into the Anderson, or under the stairs. They aren't on the way at all this time, are they, They are already among you. Pretty hard to keep calm an carry on, not knowing for sure that the man seated ahead of you on the bus, or the person heading down the tube with his backpack, are really only just on their way to work, or if they are up to committing one more atrocity in what's getting to be a very long list.

Theresa May says enough is enough, and that the UK hasn't done enough to prevent terrorism. That was literally her job as Home Secretary "Things need to change" says May, who has been in charge of counter terrorism for the past seven years.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Very strict gun laws in the U.K. Compared to the US.

The gun laws don't explain why the U.K. is a target, it just means the weapons of choice are different

Everything crossed for a smooth and stress free journey

This and the PC mentality, I mean how long was Abu Hamza allowed to preach his hatred in the streets before they finally stopped him.

So you're saying the PC is more tolerant in the U.K.?

Not following your logic on this.  Can you elaborate further in making the connection for me?  Thanks!

The chances of encountering an armed citizen in the U.K. is quite slim. The bad guys know this. The US has gun ownership as a constitutional right. There are numerous cases where an armed citizen has stopped or deterred a crime. Obviously I have no idea how much that would play into the plans of these terrorists, but it could be a help. Plus my guess is the police here are more trigger happy than they are in the U.K.

The EU opened the floodgates and let every man and his dog in without any background checks, now the EU is paying the price. I tend to believe that the US so far has got a better class of immigrant, but if some have their way that will change.

Sure...I used to hangout in pubs in Kilburn ...saw cans passed around raising money for the ira.

And if you looked closer you would have seen the cans that had UDF or UDA on them, actually you wouldn't because they would have been getting funded by government money.  Just as in your other link governments have been funding all sorts for years.

I see, thanks.  So you're saying that armed citizens and trigger happy police have stopped potential terrorists from carrying out their plans here?

That would make sense.  Not sure if I would necessarily classify lacksidaisal background check policy with PC correctness unless that was the root cause of it, though.
