Then you file is being routed to the appropriate Consulate. They are most likely making the decision on the documents sent and they will as well be the ones scheduling the interview. At this point I would recommend getting in touch with the Embassy.

Hi guys hope all is well with everyone.  Received an email this morning with a checklist. It is requesting to bring with me to the interview W2 forms and the copy of signed I864. Can anyone say wether or not I have to complete a new form or can I take a copy of the one that I sent to nvc as I copied everything before sending it out.

I don't suspect there will be any issues.....may just want to ensure it doesn't appear to be brand new :)

Thanks @Duncan21  We're still pondering on whether or not to take it.

Just wanted to thank everyone for their help in answering my questions and the support. My husband is currently in the air to Chicago now-praying for a smooth POE and no issues!

Best of luck to everyone waiting for an interview and for their visas! Husband arrived yesterday! POE was no big deal at all-no hassle...his biggest issue was the airline ruining one of his bags and flight delays. Excited to finally start our lives living together! Thanks again to everyone on here-will continue to follow and help out if we can.

@swimgrl8259 Congratulations and pray for a quick and easy transition in the US. Very happy he made it safe and wish for you both all the happiness in the world.

Good morning all,

I have just received a case complete on July 19. How long before they send an email correspondence and what does it say.

It can take from 24 hours up to 7 days to receive email confirmation of your CC. Congratulations and hope you get scheduled so soon.

I wouldn't pack it. Customs gets weird sometimes and they will make you open your entire suit case just to check that one thing.

Yeah... we're still thinking on what to do... leave it with his mother or pack it into the luggage.

u can bring the monitor to US, but I am not sure u can take it with u as hand luggage

I sent most of my luggage, and just brought some (expensive, ha) electrical devices with me, but they r all in the checked luggage

and if the items u brought are over 10000USD, just be honest and report it

when I arrived Portland OR airport, the officer and customer are nice and understanding

after all, I move to a country, I don't wanna buy everything again, so I brought it with me

for some item I did forget the price, but I told the officer I don't know the price and they are for my own use.

hope it helps

We were planning on packing his monitor in the checked luggage and keep his laptop as a personal carry-on item.. It's just way to expensive to ship his computer, so we're thinking on leaving the computer/tower behind and just bringing the monitor. We still don't know for sure. We're worried to cause issues, but I've read from others that it's ok.... Ugh, I don't know to be honest.

YAY!!!!!!! Congratulations. I am truly so happy for you and wish for you to get scheduled so soon for August.

This is a standard response after your case is being transferred to your consulate. From my understanding you need to contact your consulate and schedule your own interview with them, as NVC will not be scheduling your interview since you are an expedited case. Congratulations on getting your expedite approved and wish you tons of luck in your coming medical/interview

You need an update AOS for 2016 taxes... if you sent 2015 or any of the previous years, then you need to submit AOS for 2016 and the 2016 tax transcripts. Congratulations on getting CC and wish you tons of luck on your coming interview.

I believe when it arrives at the embassy it should change to "Ready". Then from there I was told that the embassy would contact you. My case changed to "ready" yesterday so I am not sure how long it will take for them to contact me.

Welcome to the Case Complete to Interview Monthly thread.

You can view my spreadsheet Case Complete to Interview Spreadsheet

To update your interview date go here. Case Complete to Interview Form

For New people to the thread please go Case Complete to Interview Form and input your information in the form and it will be added to the form.

Everyone should be clicking on the Portal tab to visit the information for their country. If nothing is there or information needs updating. Update or add.

Its up to all of us to keep this information current, relevant and helpful to others.

Special Note: Different consulates or embassies have strict guidelines as to what type of bags/purses/cellphones etc can be carried in. And whether they provide any lockers (or not) for temp storage. As many travel from far away (by air/train/cars, one needs to specially know what they will not be able to take inside the consulate and where to store their personal belongings.

Here are some FAQ and other tidbits that may be useful to you. Be sure to visit your countries portal and click on the Consular Information and also Consular reviews.

FAQ

I just called and got Case Complete how long does it take to get the email as confirmation?
Well it has been taking 5 to 7 days to get case complete email from the date they Case Complete.

How long after Case Complete will I get an interview?
Okay this is the BIG mystery of NVC. How it usually goes is end of the month and first week of month they start scheduling for interviews for the that upcoming month. Since January they have been pretty consistent starting about the last 2 days of the month and finishing that following first week of next month

Do I have to call for my interview date?
NVC has improved greatly since March. The interview letter now comes day of schedule. So call if you want its up to you.

I know someone who got interview in the middle of the month. How is that possible?
Usually when you see someone pop up with an interview outside the bunch its usually the result of a cancellation or the embassy opening up a slot. Just because scheduling stops doesn't mean they filled up all slots. They may have more slots than appointments which is good. So someone gets case complete and immediately they get an interview. It happens.

Remember every embassy has its own slots and schedule. Some like El Salvador are very busy with a long waiting list. Some like Yemen, well it may be a few months to get in. Iceland you get interview immediately scheduled after case Complete.

I need to change our interview date what do I do?
Once you receive your interview date track your casefile. Call NVC ask when your casefile left than you can follow the DHL instructions to embassy. The contact your embassy (email is best) and ask to be rescheduled later, earlier just ask.

What do I need to bring to interview?
When you receive your P4 Letter (Interview letter) it will have your personalized checklist of things to bring or not. It has been suggested because things have been lost between NVC and embassy to bring everything (Originals) to the interview so if they don't have at embassy you aren't delayed. It's up to you. It doesn't happen much but it does happen.

How to expedite at NVC?

Go to this link has good information how to go about it.

http://boureypeatnut...m/expedite.html

Just to remind everyone to revisit the NVC Process Wiki, NVC Process Wiki

*******************************

Thanks to Fabian&Ross for spelling this all out. Once you get the interview letter reference this.

You must bring the following items to the visa interview:

  1. Any original documents the NVC requested that you did not submit (refer to the document list below)
  2. If the physician gives you your medical exam results, bring them to your interview in the envelope sealed by the medical office.
  3. Two passport photographs measuring 2 inches by 2 inches (5 cm by 5 cm) with a white background
  4. A valid unexpired passport
  5. Photocopies of all civil documents
  6. A new police certificate from your current country of residence, if you obtained the police certificate more than one year ago.
  7. Any additional documents listed in the U.S. Embassy or Consulate specific interview guidelines

The following table lists the documents requested by the NVC and whether or not you submitted them to the
NVC. Please note that even though you may have provided the NVC with a copy of a document, you are
still required to bring the original document to the visa interview.

5.Enter the Alien Number and the NVC or DOS case. Use the same email you used on the ELIS account.

This is critical to enable your created ELIS account to receive your payment information.

6. You will get an email confirming your payment.

7. When you log again on the ELIS account, you will see your case number. (It is added automatically).

8. Login into your ELIS account to track or check the status of your Green Card.

Note: Green Card process starts when immigrant enters USA and is processed at POE.

********************************Tips about your getting your SSN**********************************************If you don't have your SSN card within 21 days of your POE, go IN PERSON to your local SSA office and see if your application was forwarded by the Immigration officer. It only works about 50% of the time when you tick the box on the DS-260. As soon as you have your SSN you may work. Your passport visa and the immigration stamp is the equivalent of your green card. I feel your pain regarding shipping the computer. I'll need to bring my work computer as well and with how heavy the casing is, it'll be an extra luggage just for the black box (chassis). and then the two heavy monitors since they'll be selling for way too cheap if I want to leave those here. ugh

impossible to leave the chassis behind as it'll take a good day of work to build a new one over there.

Interview today, had a little issue with my dad's files so I was advised to be in administrative processing for them to further investigate. Then, later on I realized I have the file they needed to clarify the issue and went back to the embassy right away but unable to talk to the consular.. fortunately I was able to give the file to the releasing officer (where they give 221(g)). She was able to log my explanation on my file and was able to add the file on my folder. My question is, when do you think will they review papers after interview? Is it after the day ends or the day after or when they just remember it? I think my problem will be solved very fast if they only check on it right away.

Thank you VJs!

Congratulations to everyone who got their CCs and Interview Sched!

For those who haven't, more prayers and positivity!
