No matter how you try and twist and spin your lack of knowledge about Trump supporters....you are still failing.

I am sure you're pretty much validating what i just said, but if that means failing in the world of alternate facts, so be it. I'm good, and I am happy for you.

Actually, his judge appointments/nominations have been a positive for me.

True. That was one of the few promises he managed to keep. Also noted that it all worked well because he worked within the frame of his office, together with the other branches of government. There is a lesson there for him somewhere. His party will work with him, if he meets them halfway.

I speak based on the campaign promises he made, of which he came through with none.

However, you shed light on something I suspected already: many who voted to Trump did so out of ignorance, and had no idea what his platform was, because there wasn't one. It's reveals and reflects the unpreparedness of the man, and his base. It seems the people who voted for him believed he could run the country like a monarch, and do as he pleased. Perhaps the reason some are not disappointed is because they have no idea how the political process in this country works, or how a democracy is supposed to work.  I for one am glad I live in a country where these people are a minority.

Thank you. Your post was very informative.

Just how many promises did you expect him to fulfill in the first freaking 6 months. Jeses h I have never seen anything like the unbridled hysteria.

That was my point. He made all these promises, and his base believed in him. I suspected he had no intention of delivering on any, and that's why it makes me feel sad for those who voted for him. They were either duped into buying the bridge he was selling, or they voted for him in spite of knowing he couldn't deliver.  Neither option makes them look very smart.

It's been stated many times that more voted for Clinton which makes them look even less smart not being able to defeat a business man come tv celebrity. Anyone but her and the Presidency would have went to the Democrats. It was a vote against the Clintons and the Democrats so they better wise up or you will see a repeat in 2020.  Trump winning is a wake call to the GOP, so it remains to be seen if either party learned anything from the election.

In years to come I hope my choices are better.

Nothing will be learned, by the current establishment parties. And your choices will not be better. You can count on that.

The notion that you should cut off the nose in spite of the face is normally not associated with smart people. That is what you described.

For some Clinton was not a option.

And an impeached Trump with Pence as President would still be more preferable than a Clinton Presidency.

If Trump were to be impeached there would be no new elections. Pence would become president, as stipulated in the Constitution. It's not like the country would have to vote again.

Pence as President would still be more preferable than a Trump Presidency.

Pence as President may be preferable to some in only that he would be a more stable presidency which would not rock the boat too much and get through the agenda that the GOP would like to move forward with. He's unlikely to do something so stupid as to cause WWIII, we would unlikely have a daily barrage of ''oh my god what else now?", and he's unlikely to cause some grave major insult. We'd probably get some slight sanity back and sense of normal. So in that, sure, preferable. However we know there are other factors where he would not be preferable (which is the reason some voted for Trump in the first place hoping we'd reach this as a possibility). We do not know if Pence would clean house per say of some troublesome aspects, nor do we know what other agenda he would enact other than what the GOP would put on his desk. That being said the un-preferable reasons may be the most concerning aspects about him. We also don't know in many of these investigations that Pence is also in the clear. There's a lot of unknowns in this game.
