Hi guys

I had my N-400 interview today.

i received my appointment letter around one months ago and it just say it’s the N-400 interview.

I went there with my wife and when the officer called me I asked him my wife is here too and he Said no you should come in lonely!

The interview was pretty good; at first he asked me to raised my right hand for oath and after that couple formal question (name, family, address, ...).. then he started civic questions(five question) and one dictate(White House is in Washington D.C); pretty easy..

but

he did not say anything about I-751.. and I asked him are you gone do the I-751 interview too?! And he said: do you have I-751 pending?!

I said: Yes!!

he left and come back after half and hour and he called my wife in and start interview for I-751; and also collect some new document for it and at the end he said your N-400 in reality approved but I could claim that approved because your I-751 was not approved yet and my supervisor supposed to approved that which she is not here now!

Actually I cloud see that he wants to approve it on that time but he couldn’t find his supervised!

May the end he gave me a paper which says : decision. Can’t make now and told me they gone send me the decision after around 2 weeks ..

this is all story..

Well; it depends; might be you’re right! I’m not sure the system let him to approve my file or not. He told me if you’re not mentioned that at the end I have problem to submit approve on the system! God knows.

i did it because some times they send your approval by mail and I did not want to they call me again for I-751 interview. Waste of time; right now I know it’s on the right way and I don’t care if take a littler longer..

We got the same notice on 12/19/2018. I submitted a SR for "Outside of Processing Time", too, and got a response that they will combine the i-751 and N400 and adjudicate at the same time.

Good luck at your interview and please let us know how it went!

😪

So, I am really happy for all of you but I also has my interview today but when they call my name I went in and the officer told me that he wasn't able to make the interview because my I-751 was pending and there was no one available to do a Combo-interview and he wasn't allowed to do it. So Now I have to wait another appointment.

So sad!!!

That's really strange but i would suggest keep pushing and follow up with them and submit a request if needed if you didn't hear back from them within a week

Yes this is very much normal. What would happen is that the IO will have your I-751 interview first, once satisfied they would move to your N-400 interview. I-751 needs to be approved first so that N-400 can be processed. I would suggest taking all the documents needed to satisfy I-751 and also prepare yourself for the English and Civics test for N-400. All the best. :)

Congratulations!  That was pretty quick to get your oath ceremony.  All done?  Hope you had a good day. Finally done with this process. I remember you were waiting for your K1 about the same time as we were.  So good to see progress :)
