'Facebook killer' Steve Stephens found dead after car chase

This is such a sad story for the family that lost their loved one so this guy could get a thrill.

The manhunt for a murder suspect who police said posted a video of himself on Facebook shooting an elderly man in Cleveland widened Monday as authorities asked the public for help and pleaded with the suspect to turn himself in.

Police said they have searched "dozens of locations" for the suspect, Steve Stephens, and tried to convince him to turn himself in when they spoke with him on his cell phone on Sunday after the shooting. But Stephens remains at large as the hunt for him expands in Ohio and neighboring states, they said.

"Obviously, this individual is armed and dangerous, and quite frankly at this point he could be in a lot of places," Federal Bureau of Investigation Special Agent in Charge Stephen Anthony told a news conference in Cleveland.

He could be anywhere by this time. Poor old gentleman, walking along, doing his usual thing, picking up cans to recycle. All he had to defend himself was a plastic grocery bag. I haven't seen the video, and I won't. The stills were enough for me.

Rather typical, really. Rather than face the death penalty for murder. I'm glad this nutcase is off the street. And it's a win for the taxpayer.

 

But Mr Goodwin's family, I don't suppose it will ever really be over for them.

Too bad this guy didn't start off just killing himself or get help before he committed murder. This is a tragic story highlighting some of the many wonderful uses for a gun.

I was reading how the victims family said that they just wanted to hug the shooter and tell him they forgive him.  Talk about strength and a Christian attitude

Their power of forgiveness is certainly greater than mine. I'd change my name to Gary Plauche and take revenge into my own hands.

Actually upon hearing the news one of his daughters stated she had wished he had gone down in a hail of one hundred bullets.

An understandable statement.
