11 - fiscal year ( government agencies use a fiscal year that is different from the calendar year. It begins on October 1 and ends on September 30 )

012  - this set of digits indicates the computer workday that the case was opened...the computer workday is basically the same thing as a workday. Therefore it excludes most weekends and holidays. Our example case was opened on the 12th workday of the 2011 fiscal year (October 18, 2010)..

50960     five digits is the case number.

The problem with this explanation is my number set is 1790292953, you can't actually have 902 work days in the 17 fiscal year. So I don't think it is correct.

I had seen that kind of explanation for NVC numbers. Don't think it applies for USCIS numbers. Numbers are all correlative, and they don't seem to have anything to do with the date, except for being year 17. All of them go by the same pattern in correlative order... 17902XXXXX, and when they reached 1790299999 during April, it simply went on with 1790300000 and so on.

That makes much more sense to me. The NVC is organized and USCIS is a hodge podge. Seems to fit the pattern from everyone so far.

I'm just a trucker but I think we can fix the system very easily. The problem is it's Govn designed and maintained.

all we need is to take 100 14 year olds, get them off their XBox's long enough to redesign the system. The plus is it will only cost the taxpayers the cost of the pizza and Mountain Dew.

I am just saying all the current April documents are 902 or 903 for the second 3 numbers. Maximum work days for a fiscal year are going to be pretty close to 270 days so there explaination obviously isn't accurate.

I suspect that the information on ***removed*** is out of date on several things. They keep referencing documents that you need for certain steps that are no long listed on the USCIS or State-Department sites.

The biggest problem in government state or federal is that they haven't created a unified IT Office like the Brits did. So each department has their own systems. I know some state child protective service systems that are still Windows 98 and Internet Explorer 8. It is a massive weakness/problem across all levels of government in the US.

Junk mail is annoying. I get everything but the opposite of what I want. The beauty of the US postal system. 

Thank you! Hopefully my inquiry with my senator will spawn some type of action. I noticed others had success with that path. Not always, but I'm hoping I either have an approval on the way or coming to me soon! I've just been gluing my head in my studies, working towards my marketing degree. Luckily, I have a good distraction.

it  goes about NOA 2 , ...as soon as NOA 1 is Intermediate form, after the digitals  that define the year, there goes a cumulative account

Once again I think while that information used to be accurate it is no longer so.

Following that breakdown the numbers for April: WAC 17 902 92953 and others. The AAA and BB sections seems to still be accurate. the CCC and DEEEE sections no longer seem to follow the pattern that might have once have existed.

NVC center does not put WAC , or another one center, they put 3 letters of city where interview will be... KEV - Kiev,Ukraine,... BMB - Bombay etc

I see some people talk about blood tests and all. Is it possible to schedule a medical exam date before recieving NOA2? My embassy's site says that I need to have an interview date scheduled first, but I'm not sure I really believe them. 

 

I checked so many cases that I got banned from USCIS for a while lol

"What do the NVC Digits Mean?"

The basic NVC case number consists of 13 alphanumeric characters. The first three places are reserved for alphas (letters) identifying the overseas embassy or consulate that received the original immigrant visa application. Some visas are issued according to quotas set for each country.

The next 10 digits of the NVC are numbers that have been coded from the standard Julian calendar. The first four numbers are the year for the application (i.e. 1998). The next three numbers represent the date based on the following formula: Date + 500 (i.e. January 1st would be 001 + 500 = 501). The final number identifies the order of that application for that day (i.e. 4th application = 004.)"

That can be used to determine when NVC creates your case and the order among cases from the same country, which I don't know how relevant can be. Maybe to fill in the NVC portion of the timeline? It seems pretty anecdotal to me anyway.

 

I don't know what kind of information you might get from the USCIS case number, given we already know when it was received and the notice date *shrugs*
