It should be noted that Gorsuch previously received a 95-0 vote in the senate.

Dianne Feinstein, Chuck Shumer, ####### Durbin etc. All voted for him previously.

It should be noted that was for a different position and we would not have this discussion if Justice Merritt was given the same advise and consent.  It is not good to play the hypocrisy card on this one.

I would like to remind everyone that VJ is a friendly family site.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Gorsuch will be approved. The only question is will the republicans change the rules like dirty hairy did. Or more accurately, will the democrats filibuster Gorsuch?

It is risky for democrats to filibuster Gorsuch ,as most rank and file democrats, believe Gorsuch is qualified.

All the risk is for the Republicans for the next few years.

I have to agree with you on this. The Republicans are the ones that like dysfunctional losers right now, and that's coming from me a Republican. Sorry but they had 8 years for them to come up with something to replace Obamacare with and that everyone would agree too. They can't even do that right ughhhhhh. Also I am Freedom kind of guy but you can't just kick everybody off and say have fun with nothing now, you have a preexisting condition good luck. Sorry but that cat's out of the bag and everyone needs to be covered. All the Dems have to do is look united and not go to the crazy left/activist side(which alot of them are doing) and they might win some seats back.

I think Gorsuch will be approved by the Nuclear option maybe one or two democrats will say yes as well. He seems like not a bad guy, but he is an originalist which means the constitution is the document, and no feelings or talks will sway him. But it was nice seeing a female senator try to get him with a gotcha question, she said "The constitution only refers to him and he. Do you think because of that wording that we can or can not have a woman president one day?". The response he gave was pretty epic actually. He said "Senator, I have two daughters and I sure hope that one of them will be President on day. So does that answer your question?".

As I said initially, you don't get to where Gorsuch is by being a putz. I struggle with arguing over his nomination, granted the stakes are high so a little bit of a deep look is called for with any Supreme Court nominee, but good god, look at what passed for the Secretary of Education, she deserved a good filibuster!

Gorsuch seems like a highly intelligent, high quality man. Judges, good ones make decisions that don't necessarily even make themselves happy. Not sure I understand choosing this nominee for a huge fight.

Totally agree with you. I think they are digging in because to be a Supreme court justice means you serve for life or until you resign so that could mean for decades. I say send him up and fight next time when Ginsbergs gone.
