I think NVC will mail you your welcome letter with a different (NVC) case number, that’s what you can use to log in. They allow themselves 6 weeks for that, but I believe as soon as you got the welcome letter with the NVC case number, you can log in. And I have read on several different sites, that you can start calling NVC anytime, as you might have your case number already, they just haven’t mailed the letter yet, but give you the information you need.

I am not a immigration lawyer, so I could be wrong, but it all makes sense to me. If I’m wrong and anybody knows better how this will work for us, don’t keep it to yourself! :)

I mean the actual link for nvc on that letter does not work for me.

I130 arrived at Nebraska Service Center - March 29, 2017

AOS fee paid on January 31st

IV fee paid on the 3rd of February - received the email this morning as well with the fee. Money taken out of account on the 6th.

IV fee shown as paid and DS-260 open on the 13th of February.

DS-260 submitted on the13th February

IV and AOS documents mailed on the 13th February

Is anyone here a *beneficiary* who has been able to get phone updates about a case? I keep being told I am not an applicant of USCIS yet, and therefore not able to get any information myself. Which, to me, is insane. But whatever.

Just wondered if people have found a way around this or if it is completely non-negotiable on their side?

I can of course ask my wife to call (she is in the US now) but has a much, much busier working day than me and the time we do get to talk I prefer not to spend talking about US government bureaucracy.. :D:D

Hi everybody! I've been trying to busy myself with work to not stress about everything. And thankfully, after a long 295 days, we received the most wonderful Christmas gift we could have imagined: an email that our case was approved and sent to the NVC on Dec 27. Our PD was Mar 7 in Nebraska. So thankful to be moving on! For those with RFEs or those who are still waiting to hear something, know that you are not forgotten. Focus on the things and people around you that you can have an impact on. It has helped me a lot over these past months to invest more time and energy in people around me. I hope the same for you. Have a very Happy New Year everyone!

I signed me and my husband up for profiles attached to the USCIS and case so we both get emails!

273 days and counting. Finally we were able to get connected to a Tier 2 supervisor but we were not able to leave a non-American phone number since we're both overseas! Anyone else having this problem?

Frustrating...

you can't get a call back overseas. you have to wait on the line or call back another time if the wait is really long. very inconvenient to work on anything while overseas.

Hello,

So I received my RFE letter today.

They are requesting a copy of the foreign language marriage certificate from which the English translation was made, called "corresponding translation". I did not know I needed to send the marriage certificate in both languages!! I only sent the translated English copy. I wish I did!!!!

I received the same RFE, I thought I sent a translation with my application, perhaps I did not. I sent the documents today. Have you received a response yet? How long will this take to get a response?

Sign up for magicjack and you will be given a phone number in the USA. We live in Ireland and pay under $40 a year to keep a North Carolina number. All calls to USA and Canada or another magicjack are free. We just plug a little device into the modem and then we plug a normal house phone into it and we have a permanently active US number and all my wife's family call just like a local call, no more international long distance fees.
