Hi everyone! My visa interview will be next week. Since we have co-sponsor (my fiancee'a parent), does me fiancee need to show some tax documents of himself as well?

Yes. Your fiance is still the primary sponsor and needs to provide an I-134 along with supporting evidences (including a tax return/transcript).

slightly off the K1, have a question about filling ds-160 for my parents. (this is very confusing :(

To the question as 'Do you have any relative in US', if I say 'Yes', and answer for my parents is 'Daughter', (i.e. ME)

What should I mark as my status? Options are citizen, Legal PR, Nonimmigrant and other.

I am slightly confused between Nonimmigrant and Other, as K1 technically is a nonimmigrant till i adjust my status. and wedding is only AFTER my parents get their B2 :)

Please help.

I'd say nonimmigrant personally...until you finish AOS, you are not actually an LPR.

We are confused now because in the I-134 nature of evidence it states that you only need the tax return if you're self-employed

Technically, yes. But most COs request it anyway (which they are allowed to do).

Who wants to share their interview experience with me? Ours is coming up and we would love advice. I can't imagine there could be anything missing from our file, but if you had an RFE at your interview what was it for? If there's  something else I can scan and send I'd like to.

Just had my interview this morning and it went well!

I went through two people:

1. A man doing the documents check (1st interview)

- checked all my documents are in order

- got my passport, pictures, original documents and photocopies

- returned photocopies that were not needed (police clearance, affidavit of support)

- returned the original tax transcripts (he only got the w2 and paystubs)

- borrowed my id (i am holding a work visa in a foreign country)

- asked me if I knew my fiance's occupation and how much he earned

- gave me a pamphlet about domestic violence and the paper to fill up if additional documents will be required

2. A lady (the CO, I presume)

- returned my original birth certificate

- questions:

A. asked me how long my fiance and i have been chatting and when did we officially become a couple (answered and said i was in the us when we met)

B. When and how long was i in the US, why was I there for 6 months

She then asked for my old passport (where my tourist visa was) and put a stamp on it saying "cancelled without prejudice"

C. Has my fiance ever visited me (once in the Philippines and in Singapore)

D. Have I went back to the US (once in 2016 and once this year)

E. How long were my visits there (10-12 days)

F. Have I met any of his family (yes) has he met any of my family (yes)

G. Where does his family live?

H. What are our wedding plans

She said, okay your documents are complete. You will get your passport back with your visa in 2 weeks.

I also asked what to do if i made an error on the ds-160 regarding the name of my sister, she said it wasn't a problem as long as she is a blood relative it's fine.

The first interview lasted less than 5 mins and the second interview less than 10 minutes.

Thanks to all the advice here in VJ. Hoping everyone has a succesful interview too! 😊

Thanks Geo. I have decided to mark the answer as 'NO' for any relative in US, as I'm not there at the time of filling ds160. Ill send my parents the passport stamp once I land in USA and they can use that in their interview.

People, please suggest if that looks suitable?

This is the document checklist the embassy gave me to prepare while waiting for my turn at the window for my interview. I don't know if it differs per embassy.
