Lol USCIS emergency please do your applications in the order of which they were received ???? I think that's a valid emergency! 

 

Chile was having those massive fires and my fiancées area was affected, I considered filing expedite for that but I said eh why do that we'll be getting the noa2 soon enough ... could kick myself now! Although I'm not even sure they would have approved that for an expedite or not. There was a national state of emergency at that time though not anymore. ?

Watching them touch so many cases from our day (Dec 5th) and it not being ours is agony. Especially as a few of the cases numbered immediately before and after have been approved already. I can't imagine how it must be for all of you early November filers still waiting. Fingers crossed for you that they get moving on those. xox

Thank you! He is safe and sound, he was working in the mountains at that point. Now he no longer is working for them but there was a moment that his employer sent him closer to the fire and I didn't hear from him for an entire day. That was so stressful. Everything has settled down now though which is good.

Fellow Canadian here and December filer...I probably need to check some recent Canadian timelines that have booked interviews to see what the current times are. I was anticipating 3 months, but 4 or more months of waiting is just dreadful due to overbookings.

Update on our process post NOA2

 

our NOA2 date was 30th January

NVC case number issued (by phone) 16th February (16 days) - booked medical

Case status set to 'ready' 22nd January

Packet 3 recieved (letter from embassy) 3rd March - all paperwork already submitted (DS-160, readiness) - and other paperwork in hand for interview (i-134 etc)

interview booked online 4th March

 

Medical - 6th March

Interview 17th March

 

45 days NOA2 to interview

 

 

So even if you are still hanging on for your NOA2 - it could all go really quickly after that!  If you have all your other paperwork ready you could be lucky and get an early date.

I just looked at some similar profiles.  It looks like this couple had a little less than a 2-month wait from Packet 4 to their interview date.

It looks like it's taking about 2 months from NOA2 to Packet 4, and then about a month and a half from Packet 4 to interview.  If the timelines stay constant, my fiancé should have his visa interview toward the middle or end of May.

Nice find and good luck! Looks like about 6 months from NOA1 to interview date if things go smoothly.

I was really happy to see that things seem to be clipping along in Montreal.   Did you see my adjusted date?  I was thinking two months from Packet 4 to interview, but my mental math was off, so, all things being equal, my fiancé should have his interview around the end of May.

 

I was reading the Canada forum and saw that recent threads were reporting 60 days post-interview to visa in hand, but then I realized that they had to submit additional evidence after the interview.  It looks like if everything goes well, he should have the visa in hand 1-3 weeks post-interview.  We're hoping that he will be able to enter the US at the end of June or the beginning of July.
