Thanks so much for sharing all this information @058rocale! So to confirm, you haven't received an NVC letter and HAV case number yet? How were you able to track your package. IDK what to do! I called again for a second opinion and they said the US Embassy might be confused in the interview scheduling where case number says my WAC #, but they weren't entirely sure. Ahhhhhhh.

That list is great, mine is really similar. How do you get IMO call logs? Also that's interesting about the Form I-864, maybe I'll do it as well. I'm no stranger to overkill haha my petition was over 200 pages. I'm worried about being allowed into the embassy with all of these documents! We need a suitcase at this point

Hi @TatiyPablo!

I got my NVC number last month, about three weeks from my noa2 :)

I read that putting the Wac number is something many people do. At the end it all ties to the same thing, we have our DS-160, and all of our documents that tie the case to us and to the k1. And the appointment said to put the case number, starting with a three letter word, which we did. I noticed that the official statement is always more complicated that what it is. At the end you do whatever makes you feel comfortable :)

How is your fiance with the process of getting his medical records, certificado de solteria, birth certificate and criminal records? Keep in mind that to legalize the certificado de solteria and his birth certificate they need three weeks. And the medical exam results are given to your fiance in 15-19 days after the exam takes place. So your June could be spent just waiting to receive everything.

Yes, I do what Cuba and Chill does, plus I get a screenshot of the imo chats log since it says I was in a video Call and it says the date and time. But you have to do this a day later, since it's it shows a date stamp. I'll send you a picture.

Oh wow! 200 pages!? haha That is great! With all the documents you have gathered since you submitted your petition, do everything double sided, and have your folder super organized. I've read they might ask for very specific things, or a certain amount of specific evidence. I've read many accounts of people interviews in Habana, and from all of it, I noticed that by consensus the officials at the embassy are very impressed with us having a lot of evidence and having it organized. Even if they don't ask to see all of it. But keep in mind that every folder has to fit in a one-inch high slot :) Most people get denied because they don't bring good enough evidence, or barely any evidence at all. So we are covered! haha

Hello TitiyPablo,

Don't worry, I have the same neurosis when it comes to this interview. It's too important not to prepare and obsess about every detail haha

Your list looks great!

I.

Remember that before that for the official medical exam your fiance(e) medical records must also include previous x-rays and immunizations :)

Thank you for reminding me to make sure to bring his new medical exam and immunizations records with me to the interview.

**What do you mean by birth certificate for international use? Is it his normal certificate but legalized for international use?

II.

I like the idea of a cover page for the continuing evidence and the notarization of my intent to marry. I will imitate you. When you say the Affidavit of Bonafide Relationship, are those letter of your family talking about your fiance and wedding plans?

I am also going to include here the receipt from our wedding rings, my dress for our City Hall ceremony, and receipt and a copy of the invitations for my after wedding celebration. I am even going to include the recipe and pictures of the new bed I'm buying for both of us haha

II.

**Will you bring the whole binder copy of your I-129F petition?

**When you find that clear plastic folder let me know. I have looked everywhere without success.

Ahh I see. Yeah it's not mandatory. In Cuba is officially "not mandatory", but they can deny the visa if we are not there. Every country is different :)

Hi everyone. I'm a feb 2 filer & since some of the cases have started to get approved in February I decided my fiancé should start getting his documents. Does his antecedentes penales have to be legalized? I have family who've done the spouse visa & have taken it without being legalized. They haven't had any issues. That being said, do you suggest we wait? Someone told me that sometimes it can take a month to get his police/criminal records

Hello @eruiz3! Welcome!

When my fiance went to get his documents legalized in Habana, they told them that they don't legalize police records. I haven't read anywhere that people were denied or had any problems with it either.  For the certificado de solteria and the birth certificate legalization, you do need a month for the consultoria juridica to return them legalized. For my fiance, it was particularly difficult to get his medical records. And once your fiance can make the medical exam appointment, they have to wait 20 days from the last day of the test to go back to the hospital and get the results. So it's good to have everything now and not be stressed a couple of weeks before the interview :)

His mom actually works for the office that handles birth certificates and fe de solteria, so I actually have those copy with me I need to double check when they expire. If not, I think we should be ok with that :)

Do we get the interview date with our NOA2? I  am confused if we get it before or after the medical exam is done?

Hello!

You need your interview date to schedule the medical exam.

It's great that your fiance's mother works that office! I've noticed that connections are crucial in getting all of the docuemtns on time.

We'll I got my interview with the Wac number they provide with Noa1. But I only scheduled the interview once I got the Noa2 since before that you don't know what might happen. Officially you are supposed to wait for your HAV# that NVC gives you 2-3 weeks after your Noa2. But many people schedule the interview with their WAC case number without any problem.

I have been going through this forum and reading post for Cuba K-1's. Do we need to have proof of wedding preparations? Me and my fiance plan on just going to the courthouse and getting married and just having a small get together with my family at my house. A wedding is just so expensive and it's something we both agree isn't necessary and plan on just having a renewal ceremony later on in our marriage.

I already have my dress, it's simple and home made. Would a picture of me wearing it be evidence? Gosh this has me so worried!

Hello!

As long as you are both on the same page on what, why and when you will be just fine :) But just in case to make the interview stronger you can include a picture of the dress in a hanger, write down on Word the list of guests (even if it's 5 people) and if you send out an invitation, even an online invitation you can include it as evidence. If you have a menu planned you can write it down on Word just for the embassy interviewer to see. Even if it's not completely set in stone.  I won't be doing a traditional wedding either. I will have a notary marry us in a botanical garden in front of my parents and two of our friend present. Then we will go eat out. I will try to get reservations, a receipt of the simple dress I will buy and a copy of the invitations I made. Just show in writing your plans and that's it.

If you want you can make a pretty invitation or a menu list using this wedsite https://www.canva.com/  you can email it to people but have a print out for the embassy interview.

Hope this helps ♥
