Hello everyone! I have a question about getting a March or April interview:

So I understand that the deadline for the 2016 filing of tax returns is on April 18, 2017 (I stand corrected, I'll confirm with my USC husband). Does that mean that if your interview date falls anytime before that, you won't have to bring your spouse's and/or sponsor's tax documents? Or will they already be asking for that even before the deadline?

Thank you so much!!!

Question for those who have sent documents in multiple mailings.  I requested my police report which gets sent straight to the NVC back in september.  NVC can't tell me if they have it on my file, and since that date I moved countries and changed case numbers.  Therefore I'm getting it re-sent to them with my new case number attached.  The only thing is, my AOS and IV packages have arrived to them in the meantime, with my new case number, and with a scan date of 31st January.

Will my new police report arriving to them this week reset my scan date?  Or would they keep it the same as the original date of 31st January?

I thought I was being extra careful getting the police report re-sent to make sure its linked to the right case number, but now realise I may have shot myself in the foot by doing so!

Got married: 26th Sep 2013

I feel so sad.

Turns out I have an actual checklist

Spoke to a representative a while ago and she said I have to mail to them my husband's divorce papers for former wife. Another 8 weeks.???.

This wait has been so long.

First scan date Nov 30 2016.

Now checklist 22nd February 2017

Just awkward they have to review just one single paper document for 8 weeks.?????

Wow ! thats crazyyyy. I would call everyday until I am able to speak to a supervisor. I don't know if they really do return the calls. If they do, let us know. I am sorry. Hopefully you won't have to wait much longer .

so i got voicemail on Friday evening at around 7pm, and i didn't get any miss called and got voicemail pop up so one of the sup left voicemail and stats that cant make 2nd guess to why one case was completed and request to submit i-864a during interview and 2nd need to to submit the form back to NVC so if it asking you then please submit the form back to NVC. I did submit the form on last week Thursday and hope they update in the system this week. :clock:

I was in the same boat. Had to restart over a 1 page birth certificate because sent in the wrong type. You can ask if the divorce papers can be brought to the embassy at the interview appointment, but most likely they would have offered that if they could. Some things the NVC has to review.

I think because yours is a work petition?  He said they're in the process of changing the wording, but you're right, it might not apply to all.

Makes sense. Thanks

So sorry to hear that! i thought they had confirmed a CC for you initially. Maybe you should request to speak with a supervisor, perhaps that would help..

Sorry to be depressing but just remember the "8 weeks" is technically up to 12 and beyond.

We waited 11 weeks and 4 days for them to look at the birth certificate. My fingers are crossed for you that they are starting to speed up.

Yes , I'm going to try.

Their mail was confusing as it also said i should make preparations for another document and send to my husband to take along to the interview while they schedule his interview date.

Only for me to call them and find out I'm going to send one to NVC and the other to my husband to bring to the interview.
