Just want to share this: A friend of mine who entered on a K1 visa on August 2016 and filed on December 2016 will receive her green card this month. That's just almost 6 months processing. She didn't expedite anything and she's in San Diego. They went on a 30-45 min interview and advised to remember all the dates like wedding, birthdays, the date you entered the US, etc. Lucky gal! Fingers crossed for everyone.

Current timeline:

July 2019 - filed I-751

August 2020 - filed N400

Sept. 2020 - i-751 status "Case Was Transferred to a New Office". Transferred to NBC.

April 12, 2021 - N400 interview in LA passed (with a pending i-751)

May 20, 2021 - I-751 status changed to Approved and N400 status changed to Oath Will Be Scheduled. 🤩

May 21, 2021 - received a call and email from USCIS Los Angeles with my NOA with my oath schedule.

May 28, 2021 - oath taking schedule in USCIS DTLA office. 😍

I am thinking that the RFE letter i got is probably the reason for the delays. Will give it one more week before i file a service request

Can you expedite the EAD at an infopass meeting? I am currently on day 84 so still within the normal processing time and have a job offer with the start date of June 20th, which would be day 124 of filing so got a way to go yet. I am hoping it will be here next week at some point but don't want to get short on time if it doesn't appear. The USCIS office is only a couple of miles from me so could just walk there, but does anyone know if you can expedite that way instead of calling the hotline number?

That gets my hopes up! I already have the interview Notice just no date yet. I'm in San Diego as well but wasn't expecting to have an interview within 6 months because USCIS field office processing times for San Diego right now show around 8 months processing time.

No updates on the EAD nor AP but.........

I just checked our case status and for the I-485 it says: Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview!!!

However, it only says case received for the I-130 .  Has anyone else had that happen?

Anyways, I'm glad that things are progressing even with the RFIE.

I do believe a fellow February filer posted about this topic. They attempted to expedite at an info pass appointment and had with them their job offer letter. The officer instructed them to call USCIS to submit the expedite request. It isn't that difficult to do! I don't remember the member's username but I remember the discussion!

Interview Experience

We went to our interview and the Interviewer was really nice. He asked us how we met, then, he said, do you have any updated documents, I gave him the joint income tax that we filed for 2016. Then he asked my wife a series of questions from the initial form we submitted. Like "if you're a terrorist or held a gun or bringing goods for sale" and so on, just answerable by yes or no. Then he did something on the computer and told us that, I don't see any problem here, and I'll approve your application pending the background check. Background check is for 24 hours, so he said, he can approve our application tomorrow and we should be getting my wife's green card within 2 weeks.

Finally we can stop stressing lol.

Good luck everyone!
