I need some help. I had my interview last jan 12,2017. A day after, my ceac status became ready and it says there check for updates after 2 business days. It's been 3days now and still not updated. My fiance had already booked a ticket for me and my flight will be on jan.26. Is it possible that I will be getting my passport till fri or atleast before jan 26? I am really worried. Is there someone here who has the same issue?

Yes it's absolutely possible.  Never book a ticket without visa in hand.

Do not EVER make flight arrangements/arrangements to relocate to the US without visa in hand

How long will it stay ready? And what's next after that? I  need to submit my resignation this week but cannot decide yet since I still don't have my passport with visa on hand.

I wouldn't submit anything without it in hand.  You can notify them that it's a possibility but wait until it's at least been sent to you.

 

nobody can give you a full timeline on how long it'll take.

My bf was too excited that he already booked me a ticket. Lol. .. And now I only have 7 more days before my flight and no update yet of my passport.

See if the ticket can be changed.  If not, oh well.  Lesson learned.

OP, sounds like you want to do the right thing at your job but you are starting a new life in another country. Leaving with little notice should not be a problem.

 

Tell your fiance to stop purchasing tickets until you have the proper documents in your hand.

make arrangements to change your flight if possible, despite suggestions to leave a job with 1 day notice, I think it is better to give a professional notice, to do otherwise puts your employer and co-workers at a disadvantage and you never know, you may need a recommendation from that employer at a later time

Hence why I said let them know of future plans so they have an idea

You can check your passport status here to see if they already mailed it. http://www.ustraveldocs.com/in/in-niv-passporttrack.asp . Mine was delivered 5 calendar days after my interview, so it is very possible.

Hi. 

I just checked that site but says, no status update available. 

What was your timeline every time you check ceac? The first update status for me was a day after my interview and that was last june 13. It is already june 19 and still nothing.
