Yes, because the non-translated one is the original document; they have no way to verify the translation's validity if you don't send in a copy of the original with it. I'm so sorry for your checklist :( What was your original scan date?

My original scan date was 11/16/2016

So just got off the phone with NVC. My case was reviewed yesterday, and I got a checklist :(. The rep told me that I have to send in my marriage certificate, which I did send. But he said it has to be in Urdu and English. I sent the translated one. I thought that I only have to send the translated one. Does anyone know if that is accurate or not? Do they really need the one that is not translated too?

Sorry to hear :(  Yes as afortunada said, the original and a translated copy.  It wouldn't hurt to get a certificate of accuracy from a translation company either.  There are some reputable ones where you can get everything done online.

Scan date is the date the NVC scanned in all your documents. You need to call them and ask them. It is NOT the same day that they receive your mail - for example, they got my mail on November 10th but didn't actually scan my documents until November 14th because of a holiday weekend, so my scan date is November 14th.

After your case has been sitting for six weeks, then sometimes you can call and be placed on "supervisor review." This is actually worthless and only puts your case on a list of ones that are behind so they can work with their teams to speed things up - it doesn't mean a supervisor literally reviews your case. That process can take another six weeks or more then, too.

Most cases are being completed 9-11 weeks from the initial scan date - hopefully you'll hear something around February 1st, but every case is different so it's hard to say!

Thanks a lot.  I really appreciate
