Oh I See thats strange. No I mean when you need to schedule an appointment with USA DOCS to do Biometrics and Fingerprinting. My Husband called Mumbai Consulate and they said he has to complete that as well and Medical.

Interesting i never knew this maybe it's a little different. They took my wife's Biometric's at the embassy in the NL. I don't see why you cant make the appointment if all they need is a case number but i would assume it would be after the interview date like the medical.

I believe the Biometric appointment is little different for us in India. Not all the embassies have this as requirement. As for waiting till getting the interview date for scheduling biometrics, since you have to do it online. It doesn't matter. You could do it anytime. However requirement is to have interview letter to attend biometrics, i would suggest you wail till you receive interview date. Same goes for scheduling medical.

If someone has a CR1 visa and is going to get their divorce, can that person continue with the process alone for having an IR1 visa ???

I believe you have to show that you are still married after 2 years for the condition to be removed.  I do not think the person can continue with the process alone for those two years if divorced.

 

You should post this question as a new topic to get any feedback from persons who've been in this situation.

@Gargalmon22 As someone else mentioned if you already got your Permanent resident card and it is a conditional card then you have to prove marriage when the 2 year renewal comes up. You can't renewal if you get divorced during that mean time. They might consider it fraud. It's best to delay the divorce in my opinion.

@parthptl Once NVC sends you interview letter it will have a list of documents to bring to the interview.
