Hi, we have received two updates via text messages within 5 days of each other...checking the USCIS webpage they had these status updates to our case:

1)

Case Has Been Approved:

On November 29th 2016 we approved your form i-485 request for Permanent Residence or Adjustment Status, Receipt Number MSCxxxxxxx. We have sent a letter please follow the instructions.

2)

My Card Has Been Mailed:

On December 5, 2016, we mailed your new card for Receipt Number MSCxxxxxxx, to the address you gave us. If you do not receive your card by January 4, 2017,

Questions:

A) Is the letter for approval of i-485, the one that tells you how to set up the interview?

B) Does anyone know, is it the Green Card, they are referring to when they say "we mailed you a new card for..." ?

Thanks in advance for your time and help.

Indeed it seems like you were approved without an interview.

From what I've been reading in the forums either you should receive an update that says your card has been picked up by usps and get a tracking # or simply receive it in the mail.

My ead status update said card was mail and few days later got a tracking # and from there it was in my mailbox in 3 days

Congrats!!!

Thank you for your feedback.

Could it be possible that we don't have to go through the process of convincing a government rep that our marriage is sincere?

That would be great!

I will update as I know more.

Blessings to all!!!

You got approved without the interview that means you got your green card.. that's it you have your green card... There is no going to see immigration about the green card you have it. The reasonn they approved it without the interview is cause they believe it's a legit marriage and don't need you to come in person to prove that it's real so they went ahead and approved it... the next time you contact immigration will be when you file to remove your condition from your green card in 1yr 9months time Edited by Moslund

Most K-1 applicants aren't required to do an AOS interview, they, like you have, receive their green card approval without an interview.

Congrats! When did you file? I only see K1-process on your timeline.

Hi, Thank You! We received the "Welcome to the United States and congratulations on your permanent resident status" letter today!!!

We filed the AOS paperwork in June 2016. Then in late August 2016 we received a request for more information. (I completely missed submitting the financial support documentation)

We submitted the information and USCIS received it on September 9th. Silence until last Tuesday November 29th when we got the text message to see the update on the USCIS website.

Then again I received the next text message yesterday Monday Dec 5th to check the website again and it was the "card in the mail message"

Good Luck to All!!

Hello All, we received the Green Card on Thursday December 8th. Wow, what a ride it has been. This forum has been very important in my data gathering and guidance.

Also, finding the forum I felt less alone in our process, not knowing anyone else that was in our similar situation, it has been comforting to find this community.

PROOF OF MARRIAGE- was submitted when we had the initial interview for K1 in Havana- See below cover letter information which has all the items we submitted for the different steps.

Nature of the submission: I-129F ORIGINAL SUBMISSION
To Whom It May Concern:
Enclosed please find my Form I-129F, Petition for K-1 Fiancé Visa for Fiance, and supporting documents.
Contents include:
- Payment in the amount of $ 340.00 personal check.
- I-129F
- G-325A and passport style photo (Petitioner- name)
- G-325A and passport style photo (Beneficiary-name)
- Certificate of Naturalization & US Passport (Petitioner- name)
- Letter certifying intent to marry (Petitioner- name and Beneficiary-name)
- Photo Collages of having met in person in the past two years.(fully detailed with Dates of pictures)
- Emails and phone records of ongoing relationship.

For the AOS we submitted the following:

Nature of the submission: Immediate Spouse Family Based Adjustment of Status

To Whom It May Concern:
Enclosed please find my form I-485 and supporting documents.
Contents include:
I-485 application payment in the amount of $ 1,070

Electronic I-94 Copy
A copy of birth certificate along with English translation.
A copy of certified Marriage Certificate
G-325A Biographic Information
Two passport-type photos of Fiance Name
2) I-864-Affidavid of Support
3) I-765 Payment in the amount of $380
4) G-1145 Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance

Request for Initial Evidence (I missed sending the evidence of financial evidence with the original documentation which delayed the process by about a month)

RE: Request For Initial Evidence (response)
Case # MSCxxx
A# Axxxxx
To Whom It May Concern:
Enclosed please find response for RFIE supporting documents.
Contents include:
- Complete Federal Income Tax return submitted to IRS in 2015
- Proof of Sufficient current Income:
6 months of Employment payroll Pay stubs
Current 401K and Pension Plan information page
Letter of Employment from Human Resources Vice President, that includes my current salary, nature of my job, my yearly earned salary, number of hours per week I work and good standing with the company.
- Supporting Tax documentation of W2 and 1099-INT for 2015
- Bank Statements from July 2015 until August 2016

Now we can breath for the next year and a half while we apply for the "permanent-permanent" residency card. The Green Card we received expires in 2 years.

We are following the path to citizenship but that is at least 4 years away for now.

Blessing to all!!

I also just saw this message on the USCIS page (check your case page)....but it did not say anything about like "your case has been approved" as did the EsperanzayTomas....Does this mean we were approved without an interview? Curious because there is no info about approval.....and also doesn't say "if you don't receive your card by XX date".-and there weren't any text message at all....... So is this the same message?

CARD WAS PICKED UP BY THE UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE

On December 9, 2016, the Post Office picked up mail containing your new card for Receipt Number MSCXXXXXXX. We mailed your card to the address you gave us.
