Has anyone asked NVC about which days they are closed for the holidays? I'm wondering if they will be open this Friday and next Monday or not.

They are closed Monday the 26th

My six week ends today, should I just wait?? How can they say it will take another 6 weeks after they've been saying 6 weeks this whole time and now it finally arrives???

Called again today and was told the same thing, it may take up to 6 weeks for the supervisor review to complete.

Honestly I am not sure if you should wait, what I have understood reading through posts is that none of the cases are completing without supervisor reviews - though there might be a few outliers.

Saying that I am frustrated would be an understatement :(

It seems to me that everyone on this forum is having to go into supervisor review..... what are the first level officers doing if EVERY case goes into supervisor review? I have a sneaking suspicion that supervisor review really means that they will put your case on somebody's desk, not that it is actually going to a supervisor/review department.... unless everyone in the NVC is a supervisor

As I said earlier, supervisor review is a polite way of saying "yes, we know that you already hit the 6 weeks mark, we know, now go away."

I emailed the NVC 10 days ago to find out my "scan date" (I received the info since then). This is the mail I received from the NVC today:

Your assigned embassy or consulate does not participate in the NVC's electronic processing program. Therefore, your documents do not receive a "scan date"

We received mail for this case. We are experiencing a high volume of incoming mail at this time. Please allow up to 6 weeks from the date we received your mail (Dec 1st) for NVC to review your documents. We are diligently working to reduce our review time and appreciate your patience. NVC will notify you after our review if there is additional information required or if we are able to schedule your case for an interview.

So maybe the correct term should be "received date"? I know that the packet was delivered on Nov 29th and the scan date given to me via telephone was Dec 1. I have this figured out, but maybe the confusion of scan date/receive date is causing some problems for others?

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the scan date is considered to be the day they scan in the information that they receive because they do scan it all in. That's my understanding at least. For example, we mailed our documents to them and they received them and scanned them in the same day we completed the online form. That was the scan date.

That is correct! For me, my package was sent via overnight mail on Wednesday. The NVC received my documents on Thursday. The NVC did not scan in the contents of my documents until the following MONDAY due to a holiday weekend.

Yes, maybe scan date isn't the correct term, but it's still technically not a received date either. Oh well!

I was put on supervisor review today, even though our six week mark isn't up until Monday. The lady I spoke to was so dang friendly and polite and said she felt bad that the holidays were delaying everyone so much.

It's too bad that supervisor review doesn't really mean anything anymore

I hope we get a flood of news tomorrow from tons of CC's being pushed through before the holiday weekend!!

Just spoke with NVC. I swear I'm going to crush my phone with my bare hands one day. Our 6 weeks was up Monday. Sent to supervisor review yesterday and told it could take another 6 weeks. Still hasn't been looked at.

Why in the hell do they not say 12 weeks to begin with instead of 6 weeks and then dumping another 6 weeks on us? Grrrrrr.......

I'm so sorry :( :( :( I've wondered that, too. Saying twelve weeks would be much better and perhaps calm people down. Or if there was a way to track it like on the USCIS app where you could watch cases close to yours...

No one has found an app like that for the NVC, have they?!
