Hi all, I got a rfe request 2 weeks ago for missing marriage cert. I send the certificate via regular mail about 10 business days ago. Anyone know how long it will take to reflect to received online? A bit nervous because I didn't think to send with tracking. Thanks.

If you send the documents to NVC, you can call them now. Typically, they will receive your documents within 7 days via regular mail (in US). So you can ask them if they got your document. However, you have to wait for another 3-11 weeks for reviewing, and NVC cannot tell you how long for reviewing.

When did you ask them to review CSPA? I saw your case completed on March 12 in your timeline. You should not ask them to review your case after completed, because they will put your case on hold for another 8-11 weeks of reviewing. Moreover, CSPA is decided by Officer consular on the interview date, not NVC.

 

What you can do now is calling them to check the progress, if your case is reviewed by May 20th, you can get your interview letter for July 2018 at the end of this month.

My Sis case completed not mine My case just marked for cspa review before two days because visa available just We also approached congressman for speed up process

thank you... I have been calling regularly but they tell me that I have to wait for the consulate/Embassy to schedule the interview. Does anyone know how long the wait is to get a interview date once your PD is current and all documents were sent and accepted 4 months ago.

I am also in same situation. Waiting for Montreal consulate to schedule interview.

My PD is 25 May, 2016 and CC is 27 Dec, 2017.

Lets keep in touch, let me know if you get any update. I will do same for you.

Guys I have a tax related question.

 

My spouse has upcoming consular interview in Jun 4.

 

I got married mid 2016 Last year I filed tax as single (not married filed separately) since my spouse does not have SSN and I wasn't aware of ITIN.

 

This year I filed an extension so that I can file jointly by Oct 15 deadline and also amend last year's return.

 

For the consular interview, I am including my past 2 years tax documents and this years extension. However, I am starting to get concerned about the Tax return filed singly for last year. It's little late to amend tax return since the interview is in less than a month away.

 

Does anyone have similar experience or advice?

Filing single was a big mistake. You was married, over and out. You can file paper returns without SSN this is not an excuse, just write NRA where there is the SSN. You should amend the return immediately, and give her a copy of the amendment form for the interview. Even if IRS needs a couple of months to change your tax transcript, still, you have corrected your mistake as soon as you discovered it , that`s best to do right now.
