Yeah that's the official line but in practicality a lot of people just experience a pause.

Let's hope so!

This might be what they say. What actually happens is something different. Don't take what the USCIS helpline says too seriously. They very often misinform. The proof is in the pudding and we've seen both occur here on VJ. :)

Yes most people on here usually don't wait too much longer. It's more as a pause rather than a reset.

I'm really, really hoping it's just a pause since our RFIE happened so inexplicably late in the process. It would still be frustrating if it had happened even a month ago, but the fact that it was around day 85 is a heartbreaker.

I also called USCIS today figuring I wasn't going to get much from the experience and I wasn't wrong. The woman I spoke to repeated everything I said, read an explanation of an RFE (not even an RFIE), and then gave me the websites for the DOJ and USCIS. I think anyone you'd talk to there would only give you information as it appears on the website, regardless of whether or not it's totally accurate.

We received our card in today's mail... woo-hoo!  The US Postal Service is probably my favorite branch of the Federal Government!  So, now we continue waiting for the AOS interview.  Good luck to everyone that is still waiting-- there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Patience fail lol

Day 98 - entered a service request.

We shall see what happens.

Your timeline is almost identical to mine to the day, including the RFE.

Was your RFE for initial or additional evidence?

RFIE

Related to I-485?

I put in an SR on Tuesday - no word yet.

Do you expect it to reset the clock?

I found it hard to actually find cases online that were RFIEs to compare with.

There is clearly a backlog at USCIS too. Standard time looks like it's around 100 days now.

Yes, I messed up the I-864 and had to resend.

I'm not sure about the clock thing.  I have seen the explanations of RFIE vs RFE and Reset vs restart.  I'm not sure what really goes on.  It's just that my husband is ready to get out of the house and get serious about paid work.  I saw others posted how they got notices within days of sending the SR, so I just went ahead and did it.
