You would have gotten it on Oct 26th. The email is not at all important. You already verified that they received your mail and that is what's important. I never got an email and my case was completed on time.

Call them and have the operator process the DS-261 over the phone. That will trigger the AOS fee to be unlocked. If not you will have to wait several weeks until they review it.

1)Unemployed

2)No

3)You need a joint sponsor

4)Correct.

Hi everyone,

I wonder if I should include the 2 x 2" passport-style pictures of the beneficiary in the AOS package which I will send to NVC?

Passport pics are not needed for NVC.

3. Even if he lived and worked overseas, as a USC he is bound by law to file taxes unless his income was below the federal minimum. He may not have to pay any taxes, but he still has to file. if he was below the minimum then he must send a signed statement saying that his income was too low to file. For the purposes of immigration, he will need to find a joint sponsor for you, unless he has significant assets (cash savings, more than one property, etc).

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019
