I'm so sorry for you guys. I know how hard it is, and I just wish you guys the very best, especially during that time of waiting.

To be honest, I have no idea. We just never got an NOA1, even though at some point, our check got cashed. After calling a couple of times, finally somebody had the good grace to tell us that they didn't have it and that our best bet was to refile. While that's really annoying (and also ridiculous), I just hope that it works out this time. But at the very least, we're already a step farther this time.

Technically, we would not have been required to pay again, but it would have delayed the whole thing even further. It would have meant for them to dig in and look for our check, which we pictured as a nightmare, especially after having lost our file. In order for things to move faster now, we decided to just bite the bullet and pay again; especially because I would really like to see some progress while I'm here. It's much easier to react to possible RFEs or the like when you're physically together (and in the same timezone for that matter)...

How long does it normally take (on average) to know if you're gonna get an rfe??

There's no average time really, just whenever an officer picks up your case, looks through it and decides if they want an RFE

We received our NOA1 in the mail today, the date on the NOA1 is November 8th and now we wait and wait. On a happier note I booked a flight to go and see my fiancee for two weeks starting close to New Years Eve. Super excited!

Im excited for you. Enjoy your trip it will be here soon enough . Yup timeline for noa 1 should be date on paper copy. Step 3 done now you just wait for NOA 2. No doubt you will get it before your reunion.

We just sent our I-129F packet last wednesday, Nov 9th, and now we still havent got any Noa1 yet, must be the Veretans Day last week so the officers didn't work... Im pretty excited about our packet and Im counting everyday

Did you send via delivery confirmation or tracking and if so did you confirm it was received at the Dallas Lock box?

Also did you sent in the form that allows you to be electronically notified of the NOA 1?

You should hear something by 11/19 if not sooner.

Hi Jim,

We checked our tracking number and it said it was sent to the lockbox on Saturday. And we included the G-1145e form in the packet too. I know we have to be patient
