Can my father help me to sponsor my mum for Visiting Visa

I lost my new job 3weeks ago before my wife have a baby 2weeks ago. My wife went thru C section but everyone are okay. I wanted to bring my mum to meet her grandchild and as well take care of my wife who just underwent surgery during the delivery. Since i dont have a job now and doesn't have enough money in my account, my dad who lives here said he will help me to sponsor my momma trip to come down here. he is ready to give me all affidavit of support she will need. Now my question is since i am one who have a baby and want to invite her to meet her grandbaby and also to help in taking care of the baby and my wife, i it possible for my dad to help to sponsor her and also on the invitation letter, how do i need to draft the letter

There is no 'sponsorship' for tourist visa application.

Your mother has to prove that she has strong ties to her home country:

By showing:

• That the purpose of your trip to the United States is for a temporary visit, such as business, pleasure, or medical treatment
• That you plan to remain in the United States for a specific, limited period of time
• Evidence of funds to cover your expenses while in the United States
• That you have a residence outside the United States, as well as other binding social or economic ties, that will ensure your return abroad at the end of your visit

By the way, coming to US on tourist visa to take of grandchild and wife is considered as work (whether is paid or not) -> taking away job from USC/LPR.

ok. can my dad provide evidence of fund to cover her stay here? my mum is a retired teacher in her country. and she doesnt have enough fund to prove as well. That is why my dad is ready to provide all these financial support document

as said, there is no sponsorship so no funds nor affidavit needed, nothing needed from you or your dad,

on the contrary, that could prove strong ties to the US and intention to immigrate, since she has family here

she has to strong ties on her own, and to convince the officer that she will return to her country

There us no sponsorship for visitor visas. Your father can help pay you mom's way if she gets approved but that has nothing to do the visa. She must show that she will return home at the end of her stay and abide by American laws and policies. And coming here on a visitor visa to babysit is an easy way for her to get denied.

It wasn't a lie, he really was going to pay for the whole trip and had the money to do so. He was still rejected and they didn't even look at the supporting documentation.

I don't know about parents getting tourist visas, but it seems to me that if the CO has the slightest suspicion that she will want to stay in the US, then the chance of getting rejected is pretty high. Honestly, having close family members in the US is most likely going to hurt her chances of getting a tourist visa, as it seems like she isn't intending to come for "tourism".

I know it's frustrating but there are a lot of people on this forum whose family members have been denied tourist visas so we're just trying to warn you to be prepared for the worst if she does end up applying for one.

If your husband cannot afford the trip himself then that should be an instant denial, and rightly it was.

You expect the CO to believe he wont stay in the USA, where he will get everything paid for, instead of going back to his country where he has no money?

Any "supporting documentation" brought to the interview is worthless since they can not be verified during the 5 minute interview. People seem to think bringing these documents help and get mad when the CO refuses to look at them.

Kind of surprised, yes, because my ex-boyfriend (also Russian) who literally has ZERO money and no strong ties at all, apart from a very mediocre job here which pays a very mediocre salary was issued a tourist visa no problem, despite literally having nothing except a job which any person can have and doesn't even require special skills. Really, I was shocked my ex-boyfriend got the tourist visa, and since that was my first experience with the process, it seemed really easy. Guess he was just lucky?

Also, my husband owns his own flat here (despite not having a job because he was a student at the time) and that meant nothing to the CO's. So, yeah, ex-boyfriend who has a lower middle class nothing job and owns no property gets a visa, but my husband who showed up with a ton of documentation (including the deed to his flat, in his name, not in his father) was rejected. So, comparing the two situations, it was a little bit surprising, yeah.

It seems to me: zero ties to the US (regardless of how weak your ties to your home country are, a McJob seems to cut it, for example) = tourist visa issued. Slightest tie to a USC, even if you have property or some kind of actual tie to your home country = tourist visa rejected.

Hence why I posted my story here, to tell the OP that tons of documentation won't help as I have experience with doing that being rejected. Sometimes people want to hear someone who actually tried and failed rather than just a warning.
