So where does the money come from to house these 195,000 refugees over two years?

"This week kicks off National Welcoming Week, during which communities honor the contributions of immigrants and refugees and highlight efforts to build stronger, more prosperous communities that seek to welcome everyone.

Today, the White House is hosting Welcoming Refugees: Honoring Refugee Integration and Refugee Voices. This special event will convene faith-based groups, refugee resettlement organizations, local governments, refugee leaders, and others to lift up innovative refugee integration initiatives and celebrate the outstanding contributions of refugees across the country.

I'll be there with White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough and former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. You can follow along at whitehouse.gov/live from 2:30p.m. to 5:30p.m. EST and share your thoughts on social media using the hashtags #RefugeesWelcome and #WelcomingWeek.

Our county has a rich tradition of welcoming refugees. Over the past 40 years, our nation has resettled over 3.2 million refugees from countries that span the globe.

President Obama believes that we are stronger as a nation when we welcome immigrants and refugees into our communities and harness their skills.

This year, we are proud to announce that we have met our goal of welcoming 10,000 Syrian refugees a month ahead of schedule, and we are well on our way to welcoming 85,000 refugees to our shores in 2016. And in 2017, we will seek to resettle 110,000 refugees, increasing the number of people we receive by almost 60 percent over a two-year period.

Thanks for being part of this vital conversation and for acting to make #RefugeesWelcome.

Sincerely,

Cecilia

Cecilia Muñoz

Director of the Domestic Policy Council

The White House

Where is all this money, pray tell? If we have so much, then why are we so far in debt? Why do we go further in debt every day? As much as the promise of "free" college, and "free" healthcare and all the other BS that I hear that is headed our way soon, I'd MUCH rather see what precious little money we have spent on tuition or healthcare or caring for our homeless or unemployed than on refugees from across the world. We would be better off fixing what is wrong in our own country before we try to help someone else.

Something you obviously fail to see, based on your comment about leaving military equipment behind, is that it is usually done that way because it is more expensive to bring it back than to leave it behind.

probably the same reason trump says our military is 'gutted' and yet low and behold....(note how very very little we spend educating our future)

further, stating that it's more expensive to bring the stuff back than just leave it there is just mighty short sighted. lets look big picture. how much does it cost us in the long run when we have to go back and fight our leftovers later on?

UK price is about $120,000 per refugee.

And the global warming consequences.

is that a year or what? sounds inflated.

anyway, here in america, we have no issue paying ridiculous amounts of money per lost cause...imagine if we tried to put this same amount of money annually into students. refugee students too.

"The Vera Institute of Justice released a study in 2012 that found the aggregate cost of prisons in 2010 in the 40 states that participated was $39 billion. The annual average taxpayer cost in these states was $31,286 per inmate. New York State was the most expensive, with an average cost of $60,000 per prison inmate"

We've got the money to give, we just don't always give it to the right places. I'd much rather see a good amount of this money be used here at home.

U.S. Gives Financial Aid to 96% of All Countries

According to the federal government, for fiscal year 2012, “The United States remained the world’s largest bilateral donor, obligating approximately $48.4 billion—$31.2 billion in economic assistance and $17.2 billion in military assistance.” However, “obligated” funds are not the same as “dispersed.”

The U.S. disbursed $33.2 billion—$19 billion in economic assistance to 184 countries and $14.2 billion in military assistance to 142 countries. Out of the top six U.S. foreign aid recipients, five of them were Muslim countries. And yet it seems the U.S. can’t buy good press in the Middle East.

The UN boasts 193 members, and the U.S. provided economic assistance to 184 of them, or 96% of the countries in the world. To be sure, the amount of assistance drops significantly after the top 10 countries or so, but still.… Of course, State Department officials might claim that some of that money is to help the poor. But China has the second largest economy in the world—and is a major buyer of U.S. debt. So we borrow money from China in order to give them financial assistance?

President Trump will get the Japanese, Koreans and Nato Allies to pay for their military protection. We can use some of that money.

The content available on a site dedicated to bringing folks to America should not be promoting racial discord, euro-supremacy, discrimination based on religion , exclusion of groups from immigration based on where they were born, disenfranchisement of voters rights based on how they might vote.

Trump says our military is underfunded. Why would trump want to beef up our military if we're gonna have this very awesome huge wall? I mean a super terrific wall built by meth addicted toddlers should be enough to keep anything out, amirite?
