My thoughts exactly... if they were to make the EAD process a little more efficient they'd have a lot more people out there working and paying taxes.

Just got notified that we will have our AOS interview on February 1st, in Detroit. Was hoping for no interview, but at least we'll have sooner rather than later.

hey stephhhh,

i had a similar situation, i filled in the first page as we suppose to, but i accidentally wrote my old phone number on it, so after i had my exam i went home and corrected the first page, printed it out and took it with me when i went back to the surgeon to get my result for tb. i tried to ask the lady at the front desk to replace my page with the one i brought with the whole form, she got all rood with me and said no we do all that on our computers. even tho i showed her where it says that i have to fill it out. so they only read my results and that was it. i had to go back a week later to pick up my envelope, which i got a copy of the whole package and they kept one just in case.

i looked at my copy the other day and realized the form that i originally took to them to begin with was not the form that i filled out. the first page ( my page ) didnt have my alien number, phone number, city of birth, country of birth.. so i am wondering if i need to get that fixed still?, hence i didnt send my envelope ( since i dont have to send form I-693, i can submit it at the interview ) and i dont have an interview scheduled yet

Yea I think the both of us should go back. Even though it's a small issue and it might depend on who reviews the case, I don't think we should take any chances. After all it's something you paid for.

*UPDATE* I got a message today that my EAD was being produced and I-131 approved! All under normal waiting time. How long does it usually take them to arrive after being approved?

*UPDATE* I got a message today that my EAD was being produced and I-131 approved! All under normal waiting time. How long does it usually take them to arrive after being approved?

My thoughts exactly... if they were to make the EAD process a little more efficient they'd have a lot more people out there working and paying taxes.

It's really not a lot though. It's only the percentage of the population that filed for AOS after coming here on non-immigrant visas, and of that percent only the ones who have jobs offers as soon as they receive their EAD (many new immigrants search months for work).

And of those people, they are usually not high-income jobs so the tax revenue from them is going to be negligible at best. Drop in the bucket.

Hi guys! our EAD was updated to New Card is being produced today. Our AP is still on received status.. It seems that they did a lot of updates on cases today. Are they going to send an actual approval

notice prior to the actual card? I want to start submiting my resume.

I believe they do send a notification letter beforehand and the case status will update I think 2 or 3 more times to Card Approved and then Card Sent, something like that.

For some reason I am dreading that the actual interview will be in 8 months to a year. I would love to have my GC by summer because hubby and I are ready to jetset.

I am currently looking for jobs too. I see a few but I am looking for a certain amount of money, enough to be able to pay my tuition and still be able to buy a dress on a whim. The rent in these parts though...lol
