Hello, I hope someone can help me with my question, thank you in advance .

So, settled here in Hawaii, married, filed AOS, so now my case is pending.

By September, I and my husband got plan to travel to Washington, for a family visit.

Now my, question is, upon purchasing my plane ticket, do I need to use my maiden name so it matches my passport??

Or

Use my married name instead, will I have trouble with that? Should I carry with me our marriage certificate, just in case?

Your name must match what is on the photo id you are using.

Jan. 28, 2016: mailed the I-129F application

Feb. 1, 2016 arrived to the lockbox NOA1

Feb 4, 2016 check cashed

Feb. 8, 2016 Signed return receipt arrived

April 7, 2016 Case was approved NOA2

Aug. 5, 2016 was issused a new NOA2, the first one was never sent and it took 4 months to find and issue a new one

Aug. 17, 2016 arrived to NVC FINALLY!!!!

Aug. 22, 2016 Case and Invoice number and sent to Santo Domingo

Aug. 24 Case READY in Santo Domingo :)

Aug, 29 Biometrics

Aug. 30 Medical

Oct. 3 interview

Your name must match what is on the photo id you are using.

Although using your married name is an option also. Using the name that matches your ID/Passport is the easiest method of travel. Still carry your marriage cert.

I guess you will be using your Passport as the form of identification since you don't have GC yet unless you are using other IDs like state driver license. If passport then your name on the ticket should match with the name on the Passport otherwise airlines will likely not let you board the plane.

The photo ID you use when you travel must match the name you use to book the ticket. If you intend to use your passport as ID you need to book the ticket in the name shown in the passport.

Just to clear the air, I recently asked the TSA this question. You can purchase your ticket either using your married name, or your photo ID name. If the name on your ticket does not match your married name, bring with you your marriage certificate to demonstrate the name change.

TSA and airlines are two different things. TSA can just pass you through the security but you have to follow the airlines policy to be able to board the plane.

So not to go any pitential through hassle its better to book the flight with the name on the Passport.

Not true. Domestic flights require a picture ID so if she plans to use a DL then the ticket should have the name on the DL. If passport then the name on the passport.
