Guys I have question. My extension letter will be expiring soon on Oct 16. How long is to wait to get a stamp or infopass. I went to get my passport stamp earlier week of August and the officer told me its too soon. So I went home disappointed because the travel wasn't easy and I have my mother in law driving me there. So when is the safest timeline so I wont be sent home again w/o a stamp? Thank you

It really depends on the officer you found. They gave me mine 2 months and 27 days prior to the expiration of my extension letter and told me the limit is 3 months. However, other said the limit is 1 month so I would recommend going after September 16. That should give you a good chance, although not the security, of getting the stamp. Unless you need to travel, you don't really need to get a stamp so potentially you could go after the expiration of your letter.

Good luck!

It seems like you found a "stickler" - so the official policy is that you can get a stamp within 30 days of your extension expiring. So anytime after Sept 16 should be safe, no matter how tough on the rules your local office is.

Is your timeline updated?

Hey everyone! I'm new here but I'm always reading the thread. I filed for I-751 sometime in June 2016, and NOA date was July 1, 2016. I'm about to go on a trip tomorrow (got the stamp on my passport) and decides to check the USCIS website to see if anything changed and for my surprise I got the message "my card was mailed to me. On August 31, 2017, we mailed your new card for Receipt Number WACxxxxxxxx to the address you gave us." I'm a little shocked haha that means I was approved right?

Yup! Congratulations! Did you not receive the approval notice in the mail yet? If you haven't I assume it will only be a couple of days away! The card should be along soon too!

The letter says says not to travel internationally until you have received the GC, but you have the stamp so you might be ok. Others may know more here than me.

Congrats again!

I asked the officer when I got the stamp and he said I was fine. I sure hope so! I haven't got mail in a week because I live in Houston and after the crazy storms we had here the post office hasn't delivered anything yet.
