Ok so I cannot for the life of me figure out how to start a new topic in the Australian specific forum..... Can anyone help me with this?

In the meantime, I'm trying to get some information about how the consulate stage of this process works. My fiancé already responded to an email from the consulate requesting the following:

Case number (ie: SYD2014000000):

Email address:

Phone number:

Passport Number:

DS-160 confirmation number:

In response he received the following email:

Dear Applicant,

Thank you for being a valued U.S. Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) customer. Your electronic Visa application has been submitted.

Name Provided: XXXX

Country/Region of Origin (Nationality): AUSTRALIA

Passport Number: XXXX

Completed On: XXXX

Confirmation #: XXXX

YOUR CONFIRMATION PAGE IS ATTACHED TO THIS EMAIL IN A PDF FILE!

You must follow the instructions on the confirmation page in order for the U.S. Department of State to continue processing your visa application.

How to print your Confirmation Page:

1. DOUBLE CLICK on the attached file.

2. From within Adobe Reader, go to FILE and select PRINT

Please double check to see that you indeed have Adobe Acrobat installed on your system. If you do not have Adobe Acrobat Reader, you may download it for free at: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

***Important: Please do not reply to this email. This mailbox is not set up to receive email.

My question is, what's next? we paid the fee already, scheduled the medical for next week. Is this the packet 3? What is a packet 3 and 4? Is the next email they send going to inform us of his interview date? When do they provide him with instructions about what documents he needs to bring? We are so confused at this point. He hasn't heard anything else and I don't know what else I need to send him along with the affidavit of support documents.... I don't want to spend the money to send him that alone if there are other documents I might need to send him....

I know this is all country specific but I don't know where else to ask and all the info I find online is just confusing me more....

See where it says the page numbers? Follow that all the way to the right and there is a button that says 'Start New Topic.'

I'm not sure how accurate this information is, but ours for the UK was mostly spot on.

This is probably a dumb question, but do we still check our case status on ceac.state.gov? Our status says "ready" and the blurb below it says "ready for interview..." But the last update was today (our interview was yesterday). Is this what others have experience Too?

Yep, just checked again and it still says this for us too. I thought it would go into AP even after getting a 221g?

My fiancé's status has said READY for interview for the last two weeks after his interview. Still no update.

UK doesn't usually take long, just a couple days. Haven't seen anyone recently in our situation though, so who knows. I'm keeping my fingers crossed the processing times on their site are correct in our case.

Yeah I checked again today, and it still says ready for interview, but it was updated again today. So our case has been updated twice since the interview, but everything else is the same. Maybe this is normal and we're just the only ones to notice? Hopefully it changes the status before Thursday. I swear if it's not one thing it's another. -_-

Oh yeah, mine says updated Nov 17 too! interesting. and yeah, they're closed thursday ; ; which is annoying because the replacement BC Alex had to order was delayed, so it won't get to him til Wednesday and so we were hoping it'd get to the embassy by Thursday but looks like it won't til Friday :(

Thank you! I have no idea what I was looking at but it wasn't that page... but we finally received the email. Interview was scheduled for January 31st! Ugh I just feel so useless being so far away from him and trying to help him prepare from over here. Luckily he's got most of his documents ready so I just need to send my affidavit of support and revalidation letter. This website has been so helpful and everyone has been so supportive. I just want to thank everyone on here, it's nice to have other people who know what you're going through. Hopefully this waiting will be over with soon for us all.

Congrats. Happy for you. That sounds like a happy ending but it's just the beginning of a new life. Enjoy and God bless y'all ?

My fiance is doing his medical tomorrow morning his time - this evening for me. Then his interview is scheduled for Dec 2nd - only a couple more weeks!.. if all goes well he will fly out right after it's issued! My question is.. he never received any packet from the consulate/embassy.. nothing.. it says our file is ready but they never sent him anything. The first time we applied he got a packet but this time nothing. Do you think it will be ok? I'm pretty sure we didn't need anything from it specifically. Just wanted to double check here before he heads to the interview.

Good luck to y'all. All will be well.

For me I just received the email from NVC ...they forwarded our petition yesterday!! I didn't need to call them! I emailed them this morning and just received the answer!

Good luck to both of you. Wishing y'all the very best.

So, I have now seen the updated processing times from Vermont and can see why my application is just sitting there... As of September 30th they were still processing applications from April!!! Ugh. And the worst part is, now it no longer says >5 months so I can't contact my congressman to try to get this done. Worst part is, it was transferred to 'speed up the process' (states our explanation) but California is still >5 months. WTH. I just want to cry. This absolutely sucks. :'(

So I am just going to rant a little more, sorry, utterly frustrated. What makes me angry is that they transferred us on September 27th to Vermont from Cali to 'speed up the process' but processing times in Cali as of September 30th were less than 5 months and Vermont was backlogged. Why send me to somewhere backlogged to 'speed up the process'?! I won't be able to get answers now because they're not technically behind in processing so I feel absolutely hopeless. We've already postponed our wedding date from January until March but I know if I reschedule again we're going to lose out on so much money in deposits. Ugh.

*End Rant*

Sorry, just have to get it out somewhere. Seems like no one else understand what the waiting feels like.
