Woot! Excited to start getting this last stage done. I haven't seen anybody post today yet and too excited to wait. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to post the updates or even update them for everybody. Hopefully somebody will come onboard this forum and help with that.

I can't mail my application till mid April but I've been following the other months. I'm applying based on the 3-year marriage rule. I've received RFEs (nothing significant, all passed after I sent what they asked for) in all my steps before this so hopefully, this time round, everything will go smoother.

To start if off, here's our base guideline: https://www.uscis.gov/n-400 . That page has the form, checklist, filing fees, where to file and other special instructions.

For the documents referring to you and your spouse, there were three options. I chose IRS return transcripts but now I'm considering if I should play it on the safe side and add leases/bank accounts, etc (option 1) as well (in fear of an RFE at this stage).

Anyway, just blabbing right now to release extra energy. Hope we get some good convos here.

Good luck to everybody!

Thanks Happy Chic! Happy to move here, didn't find it when I searched earlier! Yey!!!

I chose IRS return transcripts but now I'm considering if I should play it on the safe side and add leases/bank accounts, etc (option 1) as well (in fear of an RFE at this stage). Any thoughts on that? Or would it just get muddled?

(And thanks for locking the other thread, I was gonna look for a way to delete it perhaps?)

Anyway, just blabbing right now to release extra energy.

Good luck to everybody!

You can choose to just send the IRS transcripts when you initially mail your N-400 package and then bring more evidence of marriage (such as joint bank statements, joint leases, credit cards etc) at the time of the interview OR mail in a few additional items than just tax transcripts in your initial package. There have been few posts on VJ recently where the IO asked to see additional items during the interview. For the N-400, it's more important to be prepared with documents related to marriage at the interview stage than at the initial application send-off stage.

Thanks Happy! That's a good distinction to remember - the interview stage versus the application stage.

I think Ameraslam99 has the same concern - s/he (sorry Amer, not sure which it is at this point! :D) sent me a message about documents I'll be sending off. Amer, hope you read this too. I guess at this point, the return transcripts are enough, then just bring more for the interview in case it's needed.
