Hello,

I am planning to Visit US in May 2016. Here's my current Situation:-

- I am 18 years old Male.

- Currently Pursuing/Enrolled in Diploma in Computer Science at a Reputed University.

- Have Traveled to Dubai, Malaysia in 2015.

- No Relatives in US- All ties are with India, Living with Family, Family income is Good, Father having several properties.

- Trip can be sponsored by Father, Though i do have a good bank balance in my personal account earned with my Freelancing Skills. (Not sure if i should self sponsor or show it is sponsored by father, i am comfortable both ways)

Please let me know how can i or how should i Shape my B2 visa Application, Also please let me know which documents should i prepare considering i am currently a Student and not employed or working with an organisation.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks!

Proceed with caution as the Consular Officers consider these red flags i.e Unmarried, not working and young age.May be someone with similar experience can advice...

Yes, those are some negative points, I hope someone here on this forum knows how to shape the application in my situation.

Apply and find out.

Since 9/11 it is more difficult for people to obtain any kind of US visa when they were born in (or spent substantial time in) the Middle East or parts of Africa, including India and Pakistan. This is doubly true for young men from those areas.

You can thank the PATRIOT Act for that.

There isn't going to be anything that anyone here can tell you to do or not do; you simply apply and find out the decision. What I am saying is expect a denial, because most people in your position are going to be denied. Maybe you will be the exception, maybe you won't, I have no idea.

Lmao...What does 9/11 has to do with Indians, You have Zero knowledge, Also, India and US share a large economy..There is no way US could deny someone due to his Race or ethnicity. Except from the countries like Iran, iraq or Syria.

Ah, it sounds as if you have the situation well in hand then, since you already know the ins and outs of how B-2 approvals and denials work. Good luck.

What your father has doesn't have any weight in the situation. Bottom line is you have to show with evidence to the US Immigration that you have such strong ties to India you will come back. What dad has does not matter. Nor him sponsoring you. You have to finance (or show you can) fiinace yourself.

A young Indian male with no one in US is suspect at best (To immigration let's not make this personnel).

But apply. You won;t know if you don't try.

It helps if you have a specific reason for the visit, a specific location. A letter from your family, a letter from your employer, even if a freelancer, saying that you are expected back by a certain time for a project, etc etc. If your father owns a family business and you do any work for him, he can write a letter saying that you have been allowed to go for a specific time and have to be back by a specific date. Of course, this is only if it's true.
