Is Ds-230 and Ds-260 are the same? i'm a little bit confuse. i'm trying to orangized my husband package for interview.

The DS-230 no longer exists it was replaced by DS-260 in 2013.

You need the conformation page of the DS-260. You can go back and click on it.

Can you post some pictures of how you organize your documents please?

Ofc!There you go!So basically I have 5 folders separated by different color dividers in a binder. I made some printable labels for each folder (I posted one so you can see)

  • First folder is the interview letter
  • Second is visa application and fee receipts
  • Third one is civil documents and their copies (birth,marriage certificate etc)
  • Fourth one is financial evidence
  • Fifth one is proof of relationship (I included emails,chat history,plane tickets and the affidavits we had sent to the USCIS when they RFEd us). In an envelope shaped folder I added some of our photos (about 4 from each visit).

That's about it!If you have any questions let me know and if you guys have any tips,I'm all ears!Good luck to us all!

CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER US EMBASSY BOGOTA

09-08-2015 Express mailed my I-130 package to Chicago Lock-box.

09-11-2015 Received NOA1 via email with a PD of 09-09-2015

09-19-2015 Received I-797C via snail mail. (NOA1)

10-21-2015 My wife came to visit me on a B1/B2. No problems at POE Miami :P

11-04-2015 Received NOA2 via email. (56 days after NOA1)

11-08-2015 My wife ends visit and returns to Colombia to wait for interview :(

11-09-2015 Received I-797 via snail mail. (NOA2)

STAGE 2: NVC

11-16-2015 NVC received our case,(12 days after NOA2).

12-07-2015 Emailed inquiry to NVC to inform them my email. http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/contact.html

12-08-2015 NVC assigned case and invoice ID number,(34 days after NOA2) Case was assigned after 13:00 PM. I called at 12:30 then at 19:00 PM

12-08-2015 Completed Choice of Agent DS-261

12-09-2015 Received 2 emails with Welcome Letters for my wife and I, they were sent by ASKnvc@state.gov

12-09-2015 AOS bill became available and I paid it. (IN PROCESS)

12-12-2015 Mailed AOS and IV packages.

12-14-2015 Received via email IV bill from ASKnvc@state.gov and paid the IV fee.

12-14-2015 AOS fee updated to PAID

12-15-2015 USPS tracking shows AOS/IV packages were delivered to NVC. Waiting for a SCAN date.

12-16-2015 IV fee updated to PAID and completed DS-260

12-19-2015 Scan Date (45 days after NOA2). I called on 01-13-16 and I was told my scan date is 12-15-15????

01-26-2016 Case complete. (83 days after NOA2)

01-29-2016 Called NVC, I was informed my CO Interview will be on 03-01-2016 at 08:00.

02-02-2016 Received Interview Letter (P4) via email.

02-09-2016 Package picked-up by DHL at 15:29 Waybill 5992952011. CEAC status "IN TRANSIT"

STAGE 3: US Embassy Bogota

02-11-2016 US Embassy Bogota received my package at 10:39.

02-12-2016 CEAC Visa Status changed from "IN TRANSIT" to "READY"

02-24-2016 Lab exams at the clinic and Bio-metrics at the CAS center.

02-25-2016 Medical Exams.

03-01-2016 Interview Date (175 days after I mailed I-130) VISA APPROVED. CEAC status changed to AP

03-02-2016 Paid Immigrant Visa Fee via ELIS account. CEAC status changed to ISSUED

03-03-2016 US Embassy Bogota sends Passport and Visa package via DHL Waybill 2900131780 to Cali.

03-04-2016 My wife picked up at DHL sealed approved IV package and her passport with a stamped I-551 IV Category CR1.

Hi Everyone! We got our 3 N/A's today, called NVC and they confirmed CC!! I guess now we wait for NVC to email/mail us a letter? My husbands interview will be in Montreal. Congrats to everyone with their recent CC!! Very exciting.

Thanks but you need to do more research on New Delhi embassy. Most cases filed in India are F2A and other LPR spouse cases. And most people with IR1/CR1 cases get interviews very quickly. The slots are different for CR1/IR1 and other immigrant visas. The CR1/IR1 cases are given priority over other visa types as they are not restricted with number of visa available.

Also we have 4 consulate and 1 main New Delhi embassy. The most busy one is Mumbai.... It is not that busy with New Delhi and in most cases we get interview as soon as it is done with case complete as long as it is IR1/CR1 case. All consulate in India have there own slots they do not share a pool or common number of slots. For December month Delhi only has 400 immigrant visa cases total. They publish the schedule for people to take a look. Also they are more than willing to give me a Feb date but they say NVC has not even bother scheduling the New Delhi cases for interview because as of now we still have slots available for Feb 2016 in New Delhi. That will give you idea that new Delhi is not totally booked. All NVC is doing is they are scheduling when they feel like scheduling that is it. Just take Soren case too they are also waiting and there embassy is not the one of most busy one like India one and he is still waiting. Man what to say now i am very happy for you that you got so quick interview and you are done with them.... I hope they one day will schedule my interview i hope it is not next year or so... I am really depressed now.... :cry::cry::cry::cry::clock::clock::clock::clock::clock:

I agree with you on my knowledge about India's posts.

You are missing the main point which is that is too early for you to be pissed off at NVC and be depressed because according to the statistical trend your 20 days are not up yet, and that is assuming you will be on the early average for IL, but it can be as late as 2 months +.

I would be pissed off and depressed if my case is way out of the statistical history for my country and post, you are not yet as to date.

Have faith, stay positive, focused and calm.

Congratulations, you got a CC under 10 days after Scan date, I estimate 7 days.!!!

I'm not sure about whatsapp..We used to use viber and nowadays we use line...You can get the chat history on viber (at least on ios) if you click on "more" then "settings" then "calls and messages" and choose "email message history".It will be a zip file with all of your chats on viber.Unzip it and print out the messages between you and your spouse

I just received the IL via email, Interview is same date 3/1 at 08:00 as I was told on the phone last Friday, Jan 29th on the phone.

I was concerned because when I was told over the phone, I immediately made airline and hotel reservations and on Saturday I registered our case in the AIS website and that site said the interview is on 3/30, so that made my stomach turn.

I called NVC yesterday and they said not to worry about that. the AIS website assigns by default an interview date on the last day of the month until the IL is issued.

CR-1 VISA

STAGE 1: USCIS

CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER US EMBASSY BOGOTA

09-08-2015 Express mailed my I-130 package to Chicago Lock-box.

09-11-2015 Received NOA1 via email with a PD of 09-09-2015

09-19-2015 Received I-797C via snail mail. (NOA1)

10-21-2015 My wife came to visit me on a B1/B2. No problems at POE Miami :P

11-04-2015 Received NOA2 via email. (56 days after NOA1)

11-08-2015 My wife ends visit and returns to Colombia to wait for interview :(

11-09-2015 Received I-797 via snail mail. (NOA2)

STAGE 2: NVC

11-16-2015 NVC received our case,(12 days after NOA2).

12-07-2015 Emailed inquiry to NVC to inform them my email. http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/contact.html

12-08-2015 NVC assigned case and invoice ID number,(34 days after NOA2) Case was assigned after 13:00 PM. I called at 12:30 then at 19:00 PM

12-08-2015 Completed Choice of Agent DS-261

12-09-2015 Received 2 emails with Welcome Letters for my wife and I, they were sent by ASKnvc@state.gov

12-09-2015 AOS bill became available and I paid it. (IN PROCESS)

12-12-2015 Mailed AOS and IV packages.

12-14-2015 Received via email IV bill from ASKnvc@state.gov and paid the IV fee.

12-14-2015 AOS fee updated to PAID

12-15-2015 USPS tracking shows AOS/IV packages were delivered to NVC. Waiting for a SCAN date.

12-16-2015 IV fee updated to PAID and completed DS-260

12-19-2015 Scan Date (45 days after NOA2). I called on 01-13-16 and I was told my scan date is 12-15-15????

01-26-2016 Case complete. (83 days after NOA2)

01-29-2016 Called NVC, I was informed my CO Interview will be on 03-01-2016 at 08:00.

02-02-2016 Received Interview Letter (P4) via email.

02-09-2016 Package picked-up by DHL at 15:29 Waybill 5992952011. CEAC status "IN TRANSIT"

STAGE 3: US Embassy Bogota

02-11-2016 US Embassy Bogota received my package at 10:39.

02-12-2016 CEAC Visa Status changed from "IN TRANSIT" to "READY"

02-24-2016 Lab exams at the clinic and Bio-metrics at the CAS center.

02-25-2016 Medical Exams.

03-01-2016 Interview Date (175 days after I mailed I-130) VISA APPROVED. CEAC status changed to AP

03-02-2016 Paid Immigrant Visa Fee via ELIS account. CEAC status changed to ISSUED

03-03-2016 US Embassy Bogota sends Passport and Visa package via DHL Waybill 2900131780 to Cali.

03-04-2016 My wife picked up at DHL sealed approved IV package and her passport with a stamped I-551 IV Category CR1.

Hi everyone, what is immigrant visa application part 1 and part 2. On interview letter means or is it the Ds 260? Thanks in advance.
