Hello, I was just curious ... When I get my 2 year conditional green card, can I invite my uncle or aunt (just as tourists) during those times ? I am also planning to petition my sister to live with me. How soon can I send a petition for her to come to the US? She is my half sibling though, will that matter? Or will she be asked additional paperworks? Ok, well I'm asking too many questions... but what I really want to know more about me sending an invitation to my uncle and petitioning my half-sister.

Any info is appreciated. Happy Holidays!

Invitations are not needed for visitor visas. While you can send an invitation to your uncle or aunt, it doesn't matter since it's not a strong tie to their home country to overcome the presumption all applicants intend to immigrate. They qualify for visitor visas based on their own situations. An invitation does not change their situations.

Only US citizens can petition a sister. You will have to wait until you become a USC. It will take you at least 3 years as an LPR to qualify for US citizenship, then you can file and it will take another 24 years to petition for your sister.

No,you would petition for your sister after you become a US citizen. The earliest that you can become a citizen is 3 years after you are issued the Green Card. From the Philippines it would be a 23 - 24 year wait for your sister to get an immigrant visa.

Only you can petition your sibling. Right now people that applied 23 years ago are getting to the front of the line to get their visas. However this wait is probably going to get much longer for people that are filing now unless they change the laws about immigration. Without change I wouldn't be surprised to see the wait be 40 years or more.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Google "3 years US naturalization." There are many requirements to become a USC. You must meet them all.

Your husband can never file for your sister. No one can file for an in-law. You can only file after you become a USC.

Your uncle or aunt will have to qualify for visitor visas on their own. There is nothing you can send that will help them get visitor visas.

You do not need a GC to invite anybody.

hi

Merry Christmas to you too

Unfortunately, it will take a lifetime, All you can do is when you become a USC, file the i130 for her just in case, and then forget about the petition.

maybe some miracle will happen In all those years and it takes a little less than 24 years
