Is there such a thing as an 'expedited' visa for NON Military? Buddy of mine has not yet submitted his IR-1 for his wife(Filipina). His mother is in Hospice. He has typed a letter stating as such to attach to the packet. He was "told" that he can file this with his packet along with form I-907. He has NO documents showing that his mother is in hospice at this time. He's requested this information from the facility but hasn't received it as yet. Should he just send it with out the additional information and forward the other information if he receives it? The other is he lives in Florida and is unsure if he should send it to Phoenix box or if there is a special one he should send it to? Salamat in advance.

Expedite criteria is specific and your friend's situation doesn't fall under any of the stated criteria.

Expedite Criteria

USCIS review​s​ all​ expedite requests on a case-by-case basis and requests are granted at the discretion of the office leadership.​ The burden is on the applicant or petitioner to demonstrate that one or more of the e​xpedite criteria have been met.​​

​USCIS may expedite a​ petition or application if it meets one or more of the following criteria:​

  • Severe financial loss to company or ​person​;​
  • Emergency situation;​
  • Humanitarian reasons;​
  • Nonprofit organization whose request is in furtherance of the cultural and social interests of the United States​;​
  • Department of Defense or ​n​ational ​i​nterest ​s​ituation;​
  • USCIS error; or​
  • Compelling interest of USCIS.​

November 18, 2015 - Received SSN in mail (I ticked the box on the DS-260 for it to be delivered)

December 5, 2015 - Received Conditional Green Card in mail

 

Removal of Conditions:

August 28, 2017 - Mailed I-751 package with USPS to VSC

August 30, 2017 - Per USPS tracking, package was delivered to St. Albans, VT

September 7, 2017 - VSC cashed check

September 11, 2017 - Received NOA (receipt date of Aug 31)

September 23, 2017 - I-797C Received (receipt date of Sept 15)

October 6, 2017 - Biometrics Appointment

August 13, 2018 - I-797 Received (receipt date of August 6) extending status for 18 months

November 13, 2018 - I-751 Approval

November 21, 2018 - New 10-Year Green Card In Hand
