Hello all, it doesn't really related in this topic, but I couldn't find any fresh data about it and maybe someone can help... So after I arrived to the US, I have got my American driving license. I needed to take the written and road test in spite of I had my international driving license...Anyways, I was happy to get it finally:) The expiration date is my visa expiration date (12/12/2015). My question is, will the marriage certificate and the NOA#3 be enough for them to extend my driving license or what do they need to extend it? Thank in advance for the answers!

Hey everyone! So we received the RFE letter today. It wasn't as bad as I thought. Basically, the I-864 forms that we used were outdated so we just have to fill out new ones and resend it. They said that forms with the revision date of 7/2/15 are the most recent forms. I thought I was getting ahead by working on my husband's greencard paperwork while we were in the waiting process for the K-1 and this is what I get! lol. Hope it helps some of you!

Please tell me whats this "RFE"

Thanks

RFE means request for initial evidence. It's when some paperwork is missing or needs to be fixed in the packet you sent. They may also request some additional paperwork (evidence of relationship, documentation, etc.) if they feel you didn't send enough.

Each state is different.

Here in WI, I must get the GC in order to apply for the driver's license.

I was told by one person that I can't use my international driver license since I'm not a tourist, and another person (both from DMV) told me that I can use it up to 1 year. So, I don't know what to do. Just in case, I'm not driving with my international license, I don't want to be pulled over and the police officer won't know whether i am able to drive or not ang get myself in troubles when I'm in the middle of the AOS.

My husband doesn't have his drivers license yet, but I did bring him to get a learner's permit this past Monday. I believe all he needed was his original birth certificate, I-94, proof of residency (he switched his UK bank statements to our US mailing address and this worked) his social security card and his passport. There are no restrictions on the permit other than that it will expire in 2 years. He won't be able to get his license until he passes a roadtest and the earliest available date is in January. I won't know until then if there are any restrictions.

My husband got his driver's license. In PA, he only needed our certified marriage certificate, his social security #, and passport with the K1 visa in it. His license is only good for one year.

Hey Fellow Petitioners,

I am glad I have found this forum. I am very exited for my own journey in this process! Nice to meet you all.

I am married to a USC for about 3 years now, and was here in the US with an F1 Visa (2 years as an F1), studying in Seminary. We were not sure where we would have like to live in the future so I never filed for AOS. We filed this November, hopefully this goes through quickly.

I am wondering how my case will be handled since about 12 years ago my parents filed for political Asylum here in the U.S (I am originally from Colombia) but was denied and we had to leave. We went to Canada and became citizens until I married my American wife.

I hope to have my EAD soon as well! I will be updating you on my own case timeline for the sake of companionship.

All the best for all!

My Story and Timeline

Nov 9/15- AOS 485, EAD 765, I-130 Filed and Mailed
Nov 12/15- Case received and Receipts sent
Nov 18/15- Receipts received in Mail with #
Nov 20/15- Biometrics Letter with Appointment for Dec 8
Nov 30/15- Did early Walk-in because of Trip Biometrics Taken
Jan 20/16- Received update online USCIS that interview is scheduled for 02/23/16

Jan 27/16- Received Text Message with EAD approval and card production

Feb 3/16- Received my EAD card
Feb 23/16- Went for interview, no decision on the spot
