I need some advice please. My fiance is trying to complete here DS-160 and it wants here to upload a photo. She is having trouble getting a photo to upload. she is having to use a computer at an internet cafe because she does not have a computer or printer. Does anyone know if the picture is required or can she complete the application without it and just take here 2X2 photos to her interview?

Any suggestions and advice are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The photo indeed is required for the visa application.. http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/general/photos.html

She can have her 2x2 picture scan by someone on the internet cafe.. Just tell them the required pixels & size on how it should be saved, otherwise she will have trouble uploading a larger image size http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/general/photos/digital-image-requirements.html

One way I did it was i took a photo of the photo with my phone and e-mailed it to myself. She then opens the photo from her e-mail in the photo editor and uploads it from there. It's a pain in the bum but it definitely is a must for completing the DS160. They wont let you submit it without uploading the photo.

I was having trouble uploading the image and I was able to submit DS-160. I got a message saying"please bring 2 passport size pics with you for the interview"

I am sorry!! But at least you're almost at the final stage!!!!!

Congrats!!

So, I had trouble to with it. What I did was: scan a passport picture. Then I edit the picture here: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/general/photos.htmlin Photo Tool.

And the system accepted the photo. You need to upload the picture. It is mandatory.

sweetjuls my friend, how are you doing?

I'm so sorry to hear that! So frustrating. I think things will go quicker soon.

My fiancé was going to have her medical exam in Minsk and interview in Warsaw. She already has a Schengen Visa and I am thinking it might be easier and faster to do both in Warsaw. We have to decide soon as our case became ready at the consulate in Warsaw today. I hope things move smoothly in Warsaw.

She sends love from Brest.

Thank you for support! The medical in Minsk is not too bad, I have done it already. The only problem for your fiancee would be that she will have to travel from Brest to Minsk, so its up to her where to have it done. If in Warsaw, just make sure she has all the vaccinations, in Minsk they asked me to do it (I had to renew one) asap and didnt give a certificate until I have done. So it took a few days for the whole thing.

Everything will be fine!! I try to keep positive :)

I am sorry!! But at least you're almost at the final stage!!!!!

Congrats!!

Thats true! A few weeks is better than a few months anyway! When I think that my petition could have gone to Texas, I am grateful and happy :)

Will sort it out!

So happy to see so many of the September filers moving on to the next stage.

I called NVC this morning, and our case arrived or was entered into their system yesterday, Nov 5. I was told the standard 42 days thing to have a number assigned, but I'll be calling next week, and the week after I'm sure. I had called on Wednesday also, and I really hadn't thought they'd have it at all this week, just getting anxious. Both times that I called I got through relatively quickly, Wednesday I was on hold for less than 4 minutes, today less than 7. I must have got lucky.

I'm the Petitioner, she's the loud Dominican

I called NVC this am to get invoice #. Already had case #, but wanted to checking-in and leave my mark seeing what was going on. The guy said they go in pallets and it could be weeks before it goes out to Embassy. We were put into their system on the 27th of October. It will go out eventually. I just would like us to be able to schedule the interview so I can be there too.

You won't have to wait much after this step and hopefully your case is on it's way to the consulate soon!

Question- What documents should I be getting from the petitioner for their proof of status in US and their proof of domicile in US

A rental lease or mortgage letter for domicile. Not sure about proof of status exactly. We don't need to have either of those documents for our embassy.
